Watch: Chaos inside Bengal Assembly; 'Governor attacked' claims BJP; TMC slams Opposition party

Chaos erupted inside the West Bengal Assembly on March 7 as the House convened for the Budget session.

The fracas reportedly began with a protest against alleged rigging and violence during the recent civic elections, which were swept by the ruling Trinamool Congress. Governor Jagdeep Dhankar was reportedly not able to give his inaugural address as pandemonium reigned.

BJP legislators allegedly entered the well with placards and interrupted the proceedings. Subsequently, TMC legislators reportedly began a counter-protest against BJP inside the House.

Later, the BJP alleged that the Governor was attacked inside the Assembly. BJP MLAs marched to the Raj Bhavan to meet Governor as well. Leader of Opposition in the House, Suvendu Adhikari blamed the TMC, and said that the party unit might consult the Central government if needed.
