Jahangirpuri Violence: Delhi Jahangirpuri Hanuman Jayanti violence: news reports suggested that clashes, stone pelting occurred during a 'shobha yatra'.

Days after clashes on Ram Navami, violence was reported on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, this time in Delhi. Violence reportedly broke out in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri during a 'shobha yatra' on the Hindu festival.

Unverified videos emerging on social media showed stone-pelting, arson, vandalism, and swords being brandished. Subsequently, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana tweeted that the situation was brought under control, and additional forces were deployed in Jahangirpuri, and other sensitive areas.

Those injured were reportedly admitted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital in Jahangirpuri.

Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also appealed for peace, while calling on the Modi government to ensure that violence does not occur. Maintenance of law and order in Delhi is the responsibility of the central government.

On April 10, on the occasion of Ram Navami, violence had been reported from multiple states, like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal. Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University had also seen clashes between students.
