The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of rain intensity increasing over the next 4-5 days in the Konkan, ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, and parts of Marathwada.

Heavy rains wreaked havoc in Maharashtra on 9 July. More than 100 villages in 3 districts of the state were hit by heavy rainfall leading to floods and loss of connectivity with many areas. Visuals showed waterlogging, flooding, and people relocating.

The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of rain intensity increasing over the next 4-5 days in the Konkan, ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, and parts of Marathwada.

On 9 July, heavy precipitation was reported from Gadchiroli, Hingoli, and Nanded districts. In Gadchiroli, communication with over 120 villages was lost.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde called up Hingoli's district collector regarding evacuations and providing relief. Around 200 people were evacuated, and no casualties were reported on 9 July.

Meanwhile, worrying visuals also emerged from Karnataka. Water levels in the Madagh Masur lake in Haveri were seen rising amid incessant rain on 9 July.
