Heavy rain: Heavy rains continued to lash many parts of north India on 9 October 2022, leading to inundation, and even deaths in some areas. On 9 October, Delhi received the second-highest rain in a single day in October since 2007.

Meanwhile, the situation worsened in Uttar Pradesh, with the state reporting at least nine deaths. People were killed in incidents ranging from boat capsizing, to house collapsing, and also getting hit by lightning.

Authorities of a dozen districts, including Lucknow, Aligarh, Meerut, Gautam Buddh Nagar, and Ghaziabad, ordered the closure of schools on 10 October. The Met Department predicted more rain in Uttar Pradesh on 10 October.

For Delhi, sporadic light to moderate rainfall has been predicted for 10 October, which is expected to peter out by the next day. On 9 October, the heavy rain led to temperatures dropping considerably in the national capital, while also helping the air quality index (AQI) to reach 48, which falls in the "good" category. This was only the second "good" air quality day in Delhi in 2022 so far.
