      A heatwave continued to sizzle many parts of India as areas reported a maximum temperature between 40 and 44 degrees Celsius on April 18, 2023.

      Hamirpur and Prayagraj reported a sweltering 44.2 degrees Celsius max temperature.

      Delhi's Safdarjung Observatory recorded the mercury at 40.4 degrees Celsius, which is higher than normal.

      Pusa saw 41.6 degrees and Pitampura perspired at 41.9 degrees Celsius.
