In another face-off, the Aam Aadmi Party has accused the BJP of hatching "a big scam" to the tune of crores in Madhya Pradesh over its implementation of a nutrition scheme for school children.

The Arvind Kejriwal-led party said that it will approch CBI to lodge a complaint against the saffron party.

Quoting the findings of an audit report, AAP chief spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's involvement in the scam. The state women and child welfare department, which implemented the scheme, comes under the CM, Bhardwaj added.

The Accountant General's 36-page audit report on the Take Home Ration (THR) component of the supplementary nutrition program flagged misuse of funds in the state's nutrition programme for school children.

Bhardwaj said the state government's scheme having an outlay of Rs 2,500 crore pertained to providing "fortified food" to children in the age group of six months to three years, lactating mothers and girls who have dropped out of schools.

The state government in its defence has denied any irregularaties saying the audit report was not final.

The tussle between the two parties has broken out at a time when the CBI is investigating the ruling party in Delhi for its alleged role in a liquor scam.
