Delhi violence: watch drone visuals; police boost surveillance over Jahangirpuri Hanuman Jayanti clash

Following violent clashes on April 16, Delhi Police deployed drones to keep an eye on the situation in the national capital. After communal violence in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri, Delhi police released visuals of drone surveillance in other parts like the southeast.

On April 16, on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, violence broke out in Jahangirpuri when a 'shobha yatra' was being conducted. At least 9 people, including 8 cops, were reportedly injured.

Meanwhile, police claimed that the situation in Jahangirpuri was under control, but the force maintained heavy deployment in the area. Police said foot patrolling, area domination, and deep deployment were being done to keep tension from boiling over again.

The police also reportedly organised a meeting of the 'aman' (peace) committee of the affected areas. Deputy Commissioner of Police of northwest Delhi organised a meeting with aman committee members of Jahangirpuri, Mahendra Park, and Adarsh Nagar police stations.

Over a dozen people have been arrested, with more suspects being identified and apprehended, as per reports.
