Bajrang Dal mob attacks MP school alleging conversion, students had narrow escape

A mob of Bajrang Dal activists attacked a missionary school in Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha on Monday alleging religious conversion.

The right-wing goons pelted stones and vandalised the school property claiming that eight students were converted to Christianity by the school authorities.

The Saint Joseph School administration has refuted the charge.

The violence took place while the students of Class 12 were sitting for a mathematics exam.

Footage showed a huge crowd outside the building, raising slogans against the school administration. The police can be seen trying to disperse the crowd. The students and the school staff present had a narrow escape.

Police have registered a case of rioting against unidentified persons. The accused are being identified and further legal steps will be taken accordingly, police said.

The school management said that after getting the information about the protest through the media, the local administration was intimated in advance about the possible disturbance. The school accused the police of not making proper security arrangements.
