Amid namaz protests, Gurudwara offers space for prayers in Gurugram

Amid ongoing protests over Muslims offering Firday prayers in open and public spaces in Gurugram, a Gurudwara in the city's Sadar Bazaar area has reached out to Muslims and offered them space.

Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha has offered its basement to offer Friday prayers to Muslims.
The decision was taken by Sadar Bazaar Gurudwara Committee and has set an example of religious harmony.

While interacting with news agency ANI, Sherdil Singh Sidhu, President of Gurudwara Singh Sabha said that Gurudwara is always open to people from all communities.
He further told that the basement of the Gurudwara stays vacant and if Muslims want, they can offer prayers there. The Gurudwara management will take care of the Covid protocols.

Gurugram's Sector 12 locality has been witnessing protests bhy rightwing groups over Muslims offering Friday prayers on roads and open spaces. The city administration has cancelled permission for namaz at some places after the protests.
