Kashmir Grievance Cell for Terror Victims Launched at PCR

Srinagar, July 3 (PTI) – A new zonal-level grievance cell dedicated to terrorism victims has been implemented at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Kashmir.

An official disclosed this development on Thursday.

As per a police spokesperson, the "Kashmir Zone Police has set up this grievance cell to provide institutional support to families affected by terrorism in the valley."

The cell will operate from Monday to Saturday, from 10 AM to 6 PM.

The spokesperson elaborated, stating that the "cell offers a specific channel for terrorism victims' families to report grievances, ensuring rapid forwarding to the appropriate departments for resolution."

In conjunction with this, the Srinagar district police have also initiated a specialized grievance cell targeting this cause.

The police spokesperson further emphasized the importance of this initiative, aiming to register and resolve complaints from families impacted by terrorism acts, focusing within the Srinagar district jurisdiction.

This establishment comes two days post the announcement by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who mentioned the setup of a special cell and toll-free number in the Jammu and Kashmir secretariat addressing families' concerns and ensuring justice against long-roaming culprits.

He stated, "A Special Cell is to be created in the LG Secretariat for assisting families' concerns. A similar setup will be rolled out in the chief secretary's office. Full support would be extended to terror victims' families, ensuring that the criminals evading justice for decades are duly penalized."

He reiterated commitment to providing comprehensive assistance to terror victim families and ensuring justice against long-free culprits.
