Kalyan Building Collapse: Fatality

Tragedy struck Thane district in Maharashtra on Tuesday afternoon when a section of a four-story residential building gave way, resulting in one fatality and injuries to five others, according to officials. The collapse occurred at the Saptashrungi Building located in Kalyan East's Mangalaragho Nagar area, where it is feared that four individuals remain trapped under the rubble. Authorities reported that the disaster happened when a slab from the building's second floor collapsed, ensnaring unsuspecting residents beneath it. Emergency response teams are actively working to rescue those trapped, following the death of one person and injuries to five others. Yasin Tadvi, a senior official orchestrating the emergency efforts, noted that the incident was reported to the Thane district disaster management cell at approximately 2:55 p.m., following which the slab's collapse was confirmed. The Thane Disaster Response Force (TDRF) has been deployed to bolster the ongoing rescue operation.
