Ranchi, Sep 5 (PTI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren extended his heartfelt wishes to all teachers and mentors on the occasion of Teacher's Day, referring to them as the guiding lighthouses of life. He shared that his own guiding light and inspiration has always been his father, the late Shibu Soren, former chief minister and influential leader. "Teachers are the guiding lighthouse of life. My teacher, my guide, is the late Baba Dishom Guruji. His life, filled with love, struggle, sensitivity, and impartiality, has always been a source of inspiration for me. Today, Baba is no longer with us in body, but his teachings, thoughts, and ideals will always continue to provide strength," Soren expressed on X, paying tribute to all mentors and teachers.

JMM founder Shibu Soren passed away on August 4 while receiving treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi, at the age of 81. The former Rajya Sabha MP, instrumental in the creation of Jharkhand, has left a lasting legacy that reshaped the nation's political landscape.

On August 28, the Jharkhand Assembly passed a resolution to propose awarding the Bharat Ratna to Shibu Soren, forwarding the recommendation to the Centre.
