Jammu and Kashmir Police arrest one involved in Reasi terror attack

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday announced that they have arrested a person in connection with the Reasi terror attack.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Reasi senior superintendent of police Mohita Sharma said that the arrested person, who has been identified as Hakim, provided logistics to the terrorists for the attack.

"One terror associate formally arrested in the Reasi terror attack. He's not the mastermind but played an important role in the attack," Reasi senior superintendent of police, Mohita Sharma told reporters.

Additionally SSP Mohita said that "around 150 people have been arrested in connection with this case."
"We have arrested the terrorist from Bandrahi in Rajouri district. I reached the spot of the incident after 1.5 hours but the local police reached the spot immediately and were involved in the rescue of the injured."

"Since it was the day of the swearing-in ceremony of the new govt and India-Pakistan match, so we were on alert. We did not get any specific input regarding this attack, " she added.

The terror attack happened on June 9 when terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. The bus later crashed into a gorge, leaving nine people dead and 41 injured.

The pilgrims were mostly from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.
