Jaishankar jabs Rahul Gandhi: there are bigger things than politics when you go abroad

As the war of words continues between the Congress and the BJP, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has hit out at Rahul Gandhi who attacked Prime Minister while addressing a gathering in the United States of America.

Stressing on “certain collective responsibility”, Jaishankar said he refrains from indulging in politics abroad and will argue "vigorously" on his return to India.

In a veiled dig at Rahul Gandhi, Jaishankar said "There are sometimes things bigger than politics and when you step outside the country, I think that's important to remember," S Jaishankar said.

The Minister made the remark as he was speaking at an event in Cape Town.

Rahul had described PM Modi a 'specimen' and said, "There are people in India who think they know more than God and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one such specimen. There is a group of people in India who are absolutely convinced they know everything. They think they know even more than God."
