YSRCP Chief Jagan Reddy Visits Rentapalla Amidst Tight Security

Amaravati, June 18 (PTI) – YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday embarked on a visit to Rentapalla village in the Palnadu district amidst stringent police restrictions. His visit was aimed at offering condolences to the family of a party worker who recently died by suicide.

Reddy began his journey in a convoy from his residence in Tadepalli, located in Guntur district, around 9 a.m. His destination was the home of Korlakunta Nagamalleswara Rao, a former deputy sarpanch. Allegations by the YSRCP suggest that Rao's suicide was influenced by harassment from police and the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Reddy is expected to pay tributes to Rao and highlight the concern over this incident.

During his journey, Reddy was accompanied by a large number of his supporters. Many traveled on two-wheelers, filling the roadsides and cheering him as he passed. He traveled through Eturuku in Guntur district to the accompaniment of rose petals and slogans from YSRCP loyalists.

This visit to Rentapalla in Sattenapalli mandal follows Reddy's recent engagement in Podili, Prakasam district, where he met with tobacco farmers. That meeting was marred by skirmishes, including incidents of stone-pelting that resulted in minor injuries. Blame for these disturbances was exchanged between TDP and YSRCP.

Anticipating potential disturbances, the police have heightened their vigilance during Reddy's visit. "Based on reliable information, certain individuals aim to create unnecessary law and order situations. If anyone attempts this, they will face severe action," stated Palnadu Superintendent of Police K Srinivasa Rao in a recent 'X' post.

Superintendent Rao emphasized that only a limited convoy consisting of security personnel, three additional vehicles, and a 100-person entourage would be permitted. Any unnecessary gatherings causing traffic disruptions or disturbances will face strict police measures.

The SP further warned that any attempts to disrupt Reddy's visit would result in action against the individuals involved and their vehicles. Additionally, police will utilize drones, video recordings, and CCTV footage to identify wrongdoers and enforce the law accordingly.
