ISIS Ballari module: NIA raids 19 locations, 8 people arrested

Eight operatives of the ISIS Ballari module were arrested during the NIA raids at 19 locations across 4 states on December 18. As per reports huge explosives raw material, electronic devices and unaccounted cash was also recovered.

 

ISIS Ballari module: NIA raids 19 locations, 8 people arrested

Tightening its grip over the ISIS influence in India, the National Investigation Agency on December 18, raided 19 locations in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Delhi.

As per the reports, the investigation agency arrested eight operatives of the Ballari module of the banned Islamic State terror organization from four states.

The arrested includes the leader of the terror group Minaz alias Md. Sulaiman. Reportedly, raw materials for explosives like sulphur, potassium nitrate, charcoal, gunpowder, sugar and ethanol, and sharp-edged weapons, were also recovered along with cash, incrimination documents, smartphones and other digital devices.

Those arrested have been identified as Minaj and Syed Sameer from Ballari; Anas Iqbal Shaikh from Mumbai; Mohammad Muniruddin, Syid Samiullah alias Sami and Md Muzammil from Bengaluru; Shayan Rahman alias Hussain from Delhi; and Mohammad Shahbaz alias Zulfikar alias Guddu from Jamshedpur.

The 19 locations raided by the NIA are spread across Ballari and Bengaluru in Karnataka; Amaravati, Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra; Jamshedpur and Bokaro in Jharkhand; and New Delhi, it said.
