Itanagar, Nov 3 (PTI) - In a momentous achievement for Indian sports, Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein of Arunachal Pradesh extended their heartfelt congratulations to the Indian women's cricket team for winning their first-ever ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup title. The victory, accomplished with a thrilling win over South Africa in the final on Sunday, marks a historic milestone in the country’s cricketing history and has been celebrated nationwide with immense pride and joy. Chief Minister Khandu lauded the team for their outstanding performance, which has brought excitement to millions across the nation. "Congratulations to Team India (Women’s) on their glorious ICC World Cup triumph! Your incredible performance has brought immense pride to the nation and joy to over a billion hearts," Khandu expressed in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. He highlighted the importance of this victory as a beacon of hope and encouragement for the youth, particularly young girls aspiring to pursue their dreams. "This momentous victory stands as a symbol of courage, unity, and perseverance, inspiring countless young girls across India to believe in their dreams and pursue them with unwavering resolve," Khandu stated. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Mein commended the team’s determination and spirit throughout the tournament. "Heartiest congratulations to #TeamIndia on winning their maiden ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025! Your performance throughout the tournament has been spectacular, marked with grit, teamwork, and unwavering spirit that have made the Nation proud," Mein posted on social media. Hailing it as a "golden chapter in Indian cricket for women", Mein expressed his appreciation for the players and the support staff. "Kudos to the entire team and support staff!” declared the deputy chief minister.
