Indian Coast Guard Rescues 22 from Flooded Gujarat Site

New Delhi, June 18 (PTI): The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) executed a daring rescue operation on Wednesday, successfully saving 22 individuals, including women, who were stranded due to flooding at a site in Gujarat.

In an announcement on X, the ICG confirmed the rescue and shared several photos documenting the heroic effort.

"In a swift and courageous operation, the Indian Coast Guard Station in Pipavav, in collaboration with the Marine Police, rescued 22 stranded personnel, including women, from a flooded site belonging to the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board (GWSSB) near Victor village in Amreli," the statement read.

The operation took place amid challenging weather conditions and low visibility, reaffirming the ICG's commitment to its motto: "We Protect." The hashtags #HADR, #DisasterRelief, #AlwaysReady, and #AidtoCivilAuthorities accompanied the announcement.
