The stand-up comic's post came after his show in Bengaluru which was scheduled for Sunday got cancelled after police asked the organisers do call it off citing law and order problems.

Comedian Munawar Faruqui has hinted at quitting comedy in his latest post on social media.

'Hate has won, an artist has lost. Im done! Goodbye! INJUSTICE', Faruqui wrote as he went to talk about the cirumstances that have led him to this point.

The stand-up comic's post came after his show in Bengaluru which was scheduled for Sunday got cancelled after police asked the organisers do call it off citing law and order problems.

Faruqui in his note shared he has had to cancel 12 show in the past 2 months due threats to organisers. He also added that his show has a censor certificate and that proves there is nothing problematic with his show.

He said it was unfair to put him in jail for a show he never did, it was unfair to cancel his shows when there is nothing problematic in them, especially when his shows are receiving love from people across the country irrespective of their region.

The comic and his shows have faced a lot of threats since he was arrested in Indore in January earlier this year after he was accused of insulting Hindu gods in his jokes. He spent 37 days in jail before the Supreme Court granted him bail.

'I think this is the end. My name is Munawar Faruqui and that's been my time. You guys were wonderful audience,' Faruqui wrote as he ended his note.
