Arvind Kejriwal leads AAP booth workers’ convention in Sanand, emphasizes citizen-focused agenda

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a booth workers’ convention at Loderiyal village in Sanand during the visit of party National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The event was attended by Gujarat In-charge Gopal Rai, Co-in-charge Durgesh Pathak, State President Isudan Gadhvi, Visavadar MLA Gopal Italia, Organization General Secretary Manoj Sorathiya, farmer leader Sagar Rabari, Yuva Morcha President Brijraj Solanki, Vice President Gauri Desai, and several other leaders, along with a large number of workers and supporters.

Addressing the meeting, Kejriwal stated that the program was an organizational gathering for booth, taluka, and district-level workers, not a public rally. He highlighted the turnout as evidence of growing participation by party workers in the state.

Kejriwal referred to an earlier workers’ meeting in Nikol, Ahmedabad, which was reportedly disrupted when the stage was dismantled, chairs removed, and permission canceled. He said that despite these obstacles, the meeting was successfully conducted.

Kejriwal also spoke about the alleged shoe-throwing incident on Visavadar MLA Gopal Italia, stating that the person involved later admitted receiving money and liquor from a BJP leader. He further claimed that several AAP workers and leaders, including Raju Karpada and Pravin Ram, have been jailed in the past three months over what he described as false cases.

Kejriwal commented on the state’s socio-economic conditions, noting concerns among farmers, youth, women, traders, and industrialists. He raised issues related to crop prices, education, healthcare, and employment, and suggested that public participation at the convention indicates citizens’ desire for change ahead of the 2027 elections.

Gopal Rai described the party’s efforts in organizing the Sanand meeting despite logistical challenges, including a change in venue and disruption of earlier planned programs. He highlighted the role of party volunteers in ensuring the event was successfully held.

Party's State President Isudan Gadhvi focused on concerns regarding governance, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and employment opportunities. He said the AAP is a party formed by citizens from ordinary families and emphasized that its work is aimed at addressing public concerns rather than being centered on political dynasties. Gadhvi said that AAP’s experience in other states demonstrates initiatives in education, healthcare, and social programs.

Visavadar MLA Gopal Italia spoke about difficulties in organizing previous meetings and noted that the party continues to focus on citizens’ issues such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure, rather than individual political gains.

The convention in Sanand highlighted AAP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its organizational presence in Gujarat and engage with workers and supporters ahead of future elections.
