The arrests were made on Thursday, and authorities believe the suspects were involved in defrauding people by distributing fake APK files purportedly for KYC updates associated with various banks, Aadhaar services, and courier companies.

The arrests occurred in the Jhijhri area, near Giridih's bus stand. The suspects hail from different parts of the district. Law enforcement recovered five mobile phones and six SIM cards from those apprehended. "We arrested the individuals based on information received via the Pratibimb portal," stated Cyber DSP Abid Khan, briefing the media about the operation.

The accused have been identified as Dipu Kumar Mandal, known as Deepak Mandal, aged 22, Chhote Mandal, aged 30, Shravan Rai, aged 21, and Mohit Kumar Mandal, aged 19. Notably, Chhote Mandal faces a registered case at the Deoghar cyber police station and is linked to 65 pending cyber fraud cases in Telangana's Hyderabad.
