Four cops suspended over cow slaughter incidents, BJP protests in UP district

Four police personnel, including a Phoolbagh outpost in-charge, were suspended on Tuesday after multiple incidents of cow slaughter in the district sparked BJP-led protests. The action followed public outrage over carcass recoveries.

The Uttar Pradesh police suspended four officers, including an outpost in-charge, after repeated incidents of cow slaughter in the Phoolbagh area led to widespread protests by BJP workers.

  • Suspended officials: Sub-Inspector Mahesh Kumar (outpost in-charge), Virendra Singh, and constables Prakash & Pawan for alleged inaction.
  • Carcasses found twice in three days, sparking BJP-led protests led by former youth wing leader Ankit Chaudhary.
  • Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vipin Tada ordered strict action, directing station in-charges to curb cow slaughter or face consequences.

Tensions escalated after carcasses were discovered on Sunday, with officials assuring resolution within 48 hours. However, more remains were found on Monday, triggering fresh protests near Surajkund Sitaram Pulia.
