In a big relief to Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, a Delhi court on Friday discharged the former Delhi chief minister and his ex-deputy in the politically charged liquor policy case, as it refused to take cognisance of the CBI chargesheet. Besides the two leaders, 21 more were discharged in the case.
The CBI has been probing alleged corruption in the formulation and execution of the erstwhile-AAP government's now-scrapped excise policy.
Special Judge Jitendra Singh rapped the federal agency for lapses in investigation, saying there was no cogent evidence against Kejriwal, while there was no prima facie case against Sisodia. He underlined "some misleading averments" and said that the voluminous chargesheet had several lacunas not corroborated by evidence or witnesses.
"...The chargesheet suffers from internal contradictions, striking at the root of conspiracy theory," Judge Singh said.
He said that in the absence of any evidence, the allegations against Kejriwal could not be sustained and that the former chief minister was implicated without any cogent evidence. This, the judge said, was inconsistent with the rule of law.
Regarding Sisodia, the judge said there was no material on record showing his involvement, nor was any recovery made from him.
A detailed order is awaited.

Fourteen protesters were arrested in connection with a demonstration at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) here on Thursday evening, police said.
Those held included JNU Students' Union (JNUSU) president Aditi Mishra, vice president Gopika Babu, former president Nitish Kumar, and joint secretary Danish Ali, among others, they said.
Police said an FIR has been registered under sections 132/3(5) (assault or criminal force), 221 (obstructing public servant) and 121(1) (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Vasant Kunj North Police Station.
The arrests followed an attempted march by JNUSU members, who had gathered at Sabarmati T-Point on the campus and sought to move towards the education ministry as part of ongoing protests over JNU Vice Chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit's recent remarks on a podcast over the implementation of UGC norms, rustication of JNUSU office bearers, and the proposed Rohith Act.
Police personnel, however, stopped the protesters at the heavily barricaded university gates, leading to a scuffle.
A total of 51 protesters, including Mishra and Kumar, were detained on Thursday evening, with Delhi Police claiming that the students resorted to physical assault, injuring several of its personnel, during the confrontation.
In a statement, the students' union called for a complete university strike and reiterated allegations of police excess during the march.
It claimed that 13 students, including three office-bearers, were detained and several students were "brutally attacked and injured", while a portrait of B. R. Ambedkar was damaged during the police action.
Among its demands, the JNUSU has sought the immediate and unconditional release of all, resignation of the vice-chancellor, action against police personnel over the alleged desecration of Ambedkar's portrait, and withdrawal of proctorial actions and FIRs against student activists.
The Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers Association (JNUTA) had earlier condemned the police action.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's four-day visit to Singapore and Japan has been "unprecedentedly successful" in terms of investment, technology and global partnerships, the state government said on Thursday.
Adityanath has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore and also received investment proposals worth Rs 2.5 lakh crore, it said in a statement.
According to the statement, the chief minister's visit marked a decisive step towards achieving the state's target of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2029-30, with business leaders describing Uttar Pradesh as a "dream destination" for investment.
During the Japan leg of the tour, MoUs were signed with major companies including Kubota Corporation, Spark Minda (in collaboration with Toyo Denso), Japan Aviation Electronics Industry and Nagase &amp; Co.
In business-to-government meetings, leading firms such as Suzuki Motor Corporation, Honda Cars India Ltd, Konoike Transport Co Ltd, Mitsui &amp; Co Ltd, Rapidus Corporation, Marubeni Corporation, Sumitomo Realty &amp; Development Co Ltd and MUFG Bank participated, it said.
The government said the key sectors of proposed investments include agricultural machinery, automobile OEM and components, auto R&amp;D, semiconductors, data centres, green hydrogen, power-to-gas, compressed bio-gas, electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM), logistics and warehousing.
It said a Green Hydrogen Centre of Excellence will be established in collaboration with the University of Yamanashi, Yamanashi Hydrogen Company, IIT Kanpur, Harcourt Butler Technical University, IIT BHU and Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology.
In the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority area, a dedicated "Japan City" will be developed over 500 acres to provide a specialised industrial ecosystem for Japanese companies.
Dedicated auto clusters and R&amp;D facilities for OEM (original equipment manufacturers) and component manufacturers will also be set up, the statement said, adding that the "Japan Desk at Invest UP" will be further strengthened under the direct monitoring of the Chief Minister's Office.
The chief minister also visited the L0 Series Maglev train station and travelled on a high-speed train, exploring possibilities of cooperation in advanced transport technologies.
He inspected the industrial robotics and factory automation plant of FANUC Corporation, which expressed interest in investing in Uttar Pradesh and supporting technological upgradation in the MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) sector.
On tourism, both the sides agreed to promote cooperation by linking Uttar Pradesh's Buddhist Circuit and Ramayana Circuit to boost spiritual, cultural and heritage tourism, creating fresh opportunities in hospitality, infrastructure and services. Skill development initiatives aligned with requirements of the Japanese industry, including language and technical training, will also be undertaken.
During the Singapore visit, wide-ranging cooperation was discussed in sectors such as MRO (maintenance, repair and operations), cargo hubs, semiconductors, data centres, logistics, skilling and fintech.
Adityanath met top leadership in Singapore -- including its president, prime minister and deputy prime minister -- to enhance industrial, technological and infrastructure collaboration, according to the statement.
Discussions were held on developing the Noida International Airport at Jewar as an MRO and cargo hub.
The outcomes of the visit reflected growing global confidence in Uttar Pradesh's transparent policies, improved law and order and robust infrastructure, the statement said, asserting that the agreements and proposals secured during the tour would significantly accelerate the state's journey towards becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gujarat State President Isudan Gadhvi and party leader Jigisha Patel addressed a press conference in Samega, Manavadar, alleging that the attack on Jigisha Patel was a pre-planned incident and raising concerns over police action in the case.
During the press conference, Isudan Gadhvi stated that the attack on Jigisha Patel was part of a &ldquo;pre-planned conspiracy.&rdquo; He questioned why police reportedly took out a procession in one case at midnight but asked when similar action would be taken against those accused of wrongdoing.
He claimed that in Gujarat &mdash; which leaders often describe as prioritising women&rsquo;s safety &mdash; several women, including Jigisha Patel, have allegedly been attacked and subjected to atrocities in broad daylight.&nbsp;
Referring to a question raised in the Assembly by MLA Gopal Italia, Gadhvi said details were sought about how many complaints were registered in Amreli and Bhavnagar districts within a year and in how many cases public processions were taken out against the accused.
Gadhvi alleged that around 96,000 complaints were registered, out of which approximately 200 cases reportedly saw processions being taken out. He asked what happened in the remaining cases and alleged that such public processions were generally conducted in cases involving poor or vulnerable individuals, while influential persons allegedly avoided similar public action.
He questioned whether the system was biased in favour of the powerful and whether only formal legal action &mdash; without public processions &mdash; was taken in most cases.
On the specific incident involving Jigisha Patel, Gadhvi alleged that appropriate police action has not yet been taken. Addressing Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, he said that assurances are often given regarding the safety of women but claimed that adequate action was not taken earlier in similar cases, including that of Payal Ben.
He stated that Jigisha Patel also belongs to the Patidar community and asked whether injustice against women from the community would be addressed properly. He further said that if the Chief Minister is unable to discharge responsibilities effectively, resignation would be appropriate.&nbsp;
He added that if justice is not delivered within 48 hours, the government would bear full responsibility. He also pointed to visits to temples such as Khodiyar Mata and Umiya Mata, stating that protection of women should align with those commitments.
Gadhvi announced that a public meeting has been organised in Gondal on the first of the upcoming month regarding this issue and farmers&rsquo; rights. He appealed to people of Gondal and Rajkot to unite against alleged injustice and participate in the meeting.
Speaking at the press conference, Jigisha Patel, who was the alleged victim of the attack, said that the incident in Gondal is visible to the public. She claimed that people were called to discuss road and infrastructure issues and that even though a Bharatiya Janata Party corporator was present and expectations were high for resolving the matter, the situation allegedly turned into an attack instead of a solution.
She said that although a complaint has been registered, minor sections have reportedly been applied in the case, which she alleged attempts to dilute its seriousness. She stated that if it was a murderous attack, strict and appropriate legal action should be taken.
Jigisha Patel further claimed that a person wearing a red cap is visible in footage from the incident, seen making gestures. She said it is unclear whether police have identified the individual but added that they have examined his social media profile and found allegedly provocative and threatening posts. She stated that screenshots of those posts will be shared with the media.
She also alleged that vehicles with black-tinted glasses and without number plates had previously been linked to illegal activities during elections in Gondal. She added that police had recently conducted a drive against such vehicles, including inspections at houses to remove black film from vehicle windows.
Jigisha Patel said she expects justice from the State Home Minister in connection with the matter.

The DGCA has revised airline refund rules, allowing passengers to cancel or modify tickets free of charge within 48 hours of booking under certain conditions.

Passengers can now cancel or change air tickets without paying additional charge within 48 hours of making the bookings subject to certain conditions, with aviation watchdog DGCA revising the ticket refund norms for airlines.
The option would not be available for domestic flight bookings where the departure date is less than 7 days and in the case of international bookings, the departure date should be not less than 15 days.
Coming out with the amended norms that are more passenger-friendly, DGCA also said that airlines should not levy any additional charge for correction in the name of the same person when the error is pointed out by the passenger within 24 hours of making the booking, when the ticket is booked directly through the airline's website.
"In case of purchase of ticket through travel agent/portal, onus of refund shall lie with the airlines as agents are their appointed representatives. The airlines shall ensure that the refund process is completed within 14 working days," the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said.
Besides, there are changes with respect to norms for ticket cancellations due to a medical emergency faced by the passenger.
The amendments to the Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) for 'Refund of Airline Tickets to Passengers of Public Transport Undertakings' comes against the backdrop of the rising passenger complaints about not receiving refunds on time.
The ticket refund issue also got highlighted during the IndiGo flight disruptions in December 2025 and at that time, the civil aviation ministry had directed the airline to complete the refunds within a specified timeline.
The revised CAR was issued on February 24.
Now, the airlines have been asked to provide 'Look-in option' for a period of 48 hours to passengers after booking tickets.
"During this period a passenger can cancel or amend the ticket without any additional charges, except for the normal prevailing fare for the revised flight for which the ticket is sought to be amended.
"This facility shall not be available for a flight whose departure is less than 7 days for domestic flight and 15 days for international flight from booking date when ticket is booked directly through airline website," the regulator said.
Beyond 48 hours of initial booking time, this option would not be available and the passenger would have to pay the relevant cancellation fees for amendment.
In a significant move, the watchdog said that airlines should not levy any additional charge for correction in name of the same person when the error is pointed out by the passenger within 24 hours of making the booking, when ticket is booked directly through airline website.
According to DGCA, in the event of ticket cancellations due to a medical emergency, where the passenger or a family member listed on the same PNR gets admitted/hospitalised during the travel period, airlines may provide either a refund or a credit shell.
"For all other situations, refunds will be issued once an opinion on the passenger's fitness to travel certificate is received from an airline's Aerospace Medicine specialist/ DGCA empanelled Aerospace Medicine specialist," it said.
In December 2025, scheduled airlines received a total of 29,212 passenger-related complaints and 7.5 per cent of them were related to refunds.
During that month, domestic carriers carried over 1.43 crore passengers, as per DGCA data.
India is one of the world's fastest growing civil aviation markets and domestic airlines carried over 16.69 crore passengers in 2025.

India on Thursday said the talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney next week will provide an opportunity to advance a forward-looking partnership between the two nations.
Carney will undertake a four-day visit to India beginning Friday, in his first trip to the country as the prime minister.
The visit is largely aimed at imparting a new momentum to the bilateral ties that came under severe strain following a diplomatic row over the killing of a Khalistani separatist in 2023.
It is learnt that trade, energy and technology will be the main focus areas of talks between Carney and Modi.
The Canadian prime minister's first stop will be Mumbai, where he will participate in separate business engagements, interact with top Indian and Canadian corporate leaders, financial experts and innovators.
The Canadian leader will arrive in New Delhi on Sunday, and the two prime ministers will hold wide-ranging talks on Monday.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said both leaders will review the progress achieved till date across diverse areas of the India-Canada strategic partnership, building on their earlier meetings in Kananaskis and Johannesburg in June and November, respectively.
"They will also take stock of ongoing cooperation in key pillars, including trade and investment; energy; critical minerals; agriculture; education, research, and innovation; and people-to-people ties. The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and global developments," the MEA said.
The two prime ministers will also attend the India-Canada CEOs Forum on Monday.
"The visit comes at an important juncture in normalisation of India-Canada bilateral relations," the MEA said.
"The two prime ministers have earlier agreed to pursue a constructive and balanced partnership grounded in mutual respect for each other's concerns and sensitivities, strong people-to-people ties, and growing economic complementarities," it said.
"The forthcoming meeting between the leaders will provide an opportunity to reaffirm the positive momentum and shared vision of India and Canada in building a forward-looking partnership," it added in a statement.
In the last few months, India and Canada have taken several steps to normalise relations.
The India-Canada relations hit rock bottom following then Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's allegations in 2023 of a potential Indian link to the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India had dismissed Trudeau's accusation as "absurd".
In October 2024, India recalled its high commissioner and five other diplomats after Ottawa attempted to link them to the Nijjar case. India also expelled an equal number of Canadian diplomats.
However, Liberal Party leader Carney's victory in the parliamentary election in April last year helped in beginning the process to reset relations.
Subsequently, both sides have already posted their high commissioners in each other's capitals.
In June last year, Modi travelled to Canada's Kananaskis to attend the G7 summit. Modi and Carney held extensive talks on the margins of the summit with a focus on rebuilding the ties.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday expressed anguish over NCERT coming up with a chapter on judicial corruption in its Class 8 textbook, while promising to fix accountability and take action against those involved in drafting the controversial portion.
He also underlined that the government has full respect for the judiciary and has no intent of disrespecting the institution.
The remarks came on a day the Supreme Court observed that there appeared to be a "well-orchestrated conspiracy" to defame the judiciary and imposed a "complete blanket ban" on the Class 8 NCERT book and ordered that all copies, physical and digital, be seized.
"They have fired the gunshot. The judiciary is bleeding," a bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant said, a day after the National Council of Educational Research and Training apologised for "inappropriate content" in the social science textbook, and said it would be rewritten in consultation with appropriate authorities.
The bench, also comprising Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi, issued show cause notices to the NCERT director and the secretary of the department of school education and asked them to explain why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against those responsible.
Reacting to the development, Pradhan said, "I am very sad at what has happened and express regret... There was no intention to insult the judiciary. An inquiry will be conducted and accountability fixed. Action will be taken against those involved in drafting the chapter. As soon as we got to know (about it), the circulation of the textbooks was put on hold."
"In a democratic country like India, the judiciary is supreme and we have utmost respect for it. We have taken the issue very seriously. The court's directives will be complied with," he told reporters in Jamshedpur.
Pradhan was in Jamshedpur to take part in a ceremony where President Droupadi Murmu laid the foundation stone for a Jagannath spiritual centre.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) social science textbook for Class 8 in question states that corruption, a massive backlog of cases, and the lack of an adequate number of judges are among the challenges faced by the judicial system.
After stern words by the Supreme Court that it will not allow "anyone on earth" to tarnish the judiciary's integrity, the NCERT pulled the textbook from its website, with sources saying the government was livid with the controversial references in the curriculum.
The NCERT on Wednesday also apologised for "inappropriate content" after facing the Supreme Court's ire over the chapter and said the book will be rewritten in consultation with appropriate authorities.

Addressing the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA) Conclave here, Vaishnaw also underlined the need to regulate the use of AI-generated content, saying such material should not be generated without the consent of the person whose face, voice or personality is used.
"Platforms must take responsibility for the content that is hosted by them. The online safety of children and all citizens is the responsibility of the platforms," Vaishnaw said, underlining that digital intermediaries have transformed into powerful media outlets.
He stressed that intellectual property must be respected and fairly compensated, noting that society's progress in science, technology, arts, and literature depends on it. Digital platforms, he said, should ensure fair revenue sharing not just with news organisations but also with independent creators in remote areas, influencers, professors, and researchers.
"I request all platforms to rethink their negotiation policies. If voluntary action is not taken, many countries have already shown that legal pathways exist," he said.
He said digital platforms need to "wake up" and understand the importance of reinforcing trust in the institutions that human society has built over thousands of years.
The minister for Information and Broadcasting, Railways and IT said the society is struggling with several issues that need to be addressed in the next decade -- online safety, authenticity of news content, safety of the children, protection against obscenity, protection against synthetically generated fake content.
"All these issues require decisive steps today because they are challenging and even destroying the fundamental tenets of our society: trust in institutions built over centuries," he said.
Similarly, Vaishnaw said, every institution is based on the fundamental tenet that mutual trust defines the entire core of the institution.
However, the way the world is evolving, that core tenet is under threat, particularly from emerging technologies such as deepfakes that can make people believe in events that never occurred, he said.
He said that the threat could be from a barrage of disinformation, which can create a sense of distrust that does not exist in real life, and synthetically generated pictures of well-respected people in society with absolutely no correlation with reality.
"And all that so-called news or so-called information, when it reaches the common citizen, the common citizen starts questioning the very basic structure of society. That is the big threat."
"And this is not something that we in India alone are observing. In my interactions with practically every country, every society is struggling with these issues," he said.
The minister wondered how people rebuild that trust within institutions that has been created over centuries. How can these institutions be protected from the threat emerging from the current shape and form of the internet, he said.
"That is the inflection point we are facing. At this inflection point, the online safety of citizens is becoming a major concern," he said.
The minister cautioned that non-adherence to basic principles would make digital platforms accountable.
He also underlined the need to regulate the use of AI-generated content, saying such material should not be generated without the consent of the person whose face, voice or personality is used.
"The time has come to make that big inflectional change. I request the platforms to cooperate with this human society's basic needs. The society which is today asking for this change has to be respected," he said.
Vaishnaw said human society is built on trust in institutions -- from the family and social identity to the judiciary, media and legislature -- all of which operate on the fundamental premise of trust.
Citing the media as an example, the minister said its credibility rests on being unbiased, verifying information before publication and remaining accountable for its content.
The minister said people must realise that the nature of the internet has changed and it is no longer the open-source space that was primarily used to exchange information between different parts of the world.
"Today, it has become a powerful media outlet. And like media organisations, platforms must take responsibility. The time is gone when platforms could say they are not responsible for content. Those times are gone. Platforms have changed from being pure intermediaries to becoming hosts to the world," he said.
He said like a hotel manager verifies guests to ensure they do not engage in illegal activities, platforms must also take responsibility for any harmful content hosted by them.
"The virality of platform-hosted content is known to all of us. Information, even misinformation, can spread to millions within hours. Therefore, the time has come for platforms to take responsibility," he said.
Vaishnaw said there must be user consent for synthetically generated content.
"How can a video of a famous news anchor be generated without consent, how can an IT industry leader's video appear without his consent asking people to do something. This is not acceptable. Consent must be mandatory," he said.
He said the time has also come for platforms to take proactive action against cyber fraud and cybercrime, which everyone has seen in the recent past.
The minister said Parliament has passed a law recently that has saved crores of families from becoming bankrupt due to online gaming addiction.
He said algorithms are designed to make content addictive, and once engaged, users often cannot exit easily.
"These are real challenges. The courts are concerned. The judiciary has repeatedly expressed concern about the societal harm. Parliamentary committees have conducted extensive consultations and submitted comprehensive reports. I urge media and platform representatives here to go through those reports carefully," he said.

The Supreme Court on Thursday imposed a "complete blanket ban" on any further publication, reprinting or digital dissemination of NCERT's Class 8 social science book as it contains "offending" contents on corruption in the judiciary, saying they have fired a gunshot and the judiciary is "bleeding".
Observing that there appeared to be a "deep-rooted conspiracy" and "calculated move" to undermine the institution and demean the dignity of judiciary, the apex court directed that all copies of the book - physical and digital - currently in circulation be immediately seized and removed from public access without any delay.
A bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant issued show cause notices to the NCERT director and the secretary of the department of school education asking them to explain why suitable action, including that of contempt, be not initiated against those found responsible for introducing the "offending" chapter.
"As an abundant precaution, a complete blanket ban is hereby imposed on any further publication, reprinting or digital dissemination of the book titled 'Exploring Society: India and Beyond' (Vol II)," the bench, which also comprised justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi, said.
The bench warned that any attempt to circumvent its order through electronic medium or alternative titles containing the same content shall be treated as a direct interference, willful breach and defiance of its directions.
"They have fired a gunshot. The judiciary is bleeding," a visibly irked CJI said during the hearing in a suo motu matter over the book.
"It is my duty as the head of the institution to find out who is responsible; heads must roll," the CJI said, adding, "We would like to have a deeper probe."
The bench said it was "nearly shocked" when one of the newspapers published an article regarding release of the social science textbook having the chapter.
It said after media report was published, the apex court's secretary general was asked to verify whether such a publication was released by NCERT.
"Instead of having an introspection of what had been written in the book in the most reckless, irresponsible, contemptuous and motivated manner, the director (of NCERT) responded in writing defending the contents of the book," the bench said.
It said on a prima facie examination of the book's content and read in conjunction with the administrative response received from director, it seemed "there is a calculated move to undermine the institutional authority and demean the dignity of the judiciary".
It said if allowed to go unchecked, it would erode the sanctity of judicial office and the estimation of public at large and more importantly, within the impressionable minds of youth.
The bench observed the narrative contained in book chooses not to dwell into any of the transformative initiatives and measures pioneered by court, including towards streamlining the ease of access to justice, and the substantive contribution made by judiciary towards the preservation of democratic fabric.
"This silence is particularly egregious given the sheer volume of high-ranking officials who have been censured by this very court in the past for corrupt practices, fraudulent activities and siphoning of public funds etc," it said.
The bench said choice of words and expressions in the book might never be a simpliciter inadvertance or bona fide error.
"We may, however, hasten to add that we do not propose to initiate the suo motu proceedings to stifle any legitimate critique or with a view to stop any individual or organisation from exercising their right to scrutinise public institutions, including the judiciary," it said.
"Given the serious consequences and an everlasting adverse impact on the independence and autonomy of judiciary, such a misconduct would fall within the definition of criminal contempt under section 2(c) of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971...," it said.
It said if found to be a deliberate move, it will undoubtedly amount to interfering with the administration of justice besides scandalising the institution.
The bench asked the director of NCERT to produce the original records of minutes of meetings where the offending chapter was deliberated and finalised, and the names and credentials of textbook development team responsible for drafting the chapter.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta tendered an unconditional and unqualified apology on behalf of the department of school education.
Mehta said the two individuals who prepared the chapter would never be associated with any activity of the ministry.
"There are 32 books which went in the market and which are being withdrawn. Rest of the books we are not circulating. The entire chapter would be re-visited by a new team," the top law officer said, adding, "We can't teach our class 8 students that justice is being denied in the country."
The bench posted the matter for further hearing on March 11.
The National Council of Educational Research &amp; Training apologised on Wednesday for "inappropriate content" in the social science textbook and said it would be rewritten in consultation with appropriate authorities.
A section titled "Corruption in the Judiciary" in the new textbook says corruption, a massive backlog of cases, and the lack of an adequate number of judges are among the challenges faced by the judicial system.
It also states that judges are bound by a code of conduct that governs not only their behaviour in court, but also how they conduct themselves outside it.

"Due to the ongoing political situation in the Middle East, several westbound international flights are causing delays or schedule adjustments," Delhi airport operator DIAL said in a post on X.
In the last three days, Indian airlines cancelled 1,117 overseas flights due to the crisis in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Air India operated a flight from Dubai to Delhi carrying 149 passengers on Tuesday.
"We are happy to welcome our guests and crew from Dubai aboard flight AI916D. This is the first flight by an Indian carrier to arrive in New Delhi today with 149 passengers and 8 operating crew members onboard, amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East," the airline said in a post on X.
As many as 143 cockpit and cabin crew members of Air India and Air India Express who were stranded in Dubai returned to the national capital in another Air India flight AI918D on Tuesday.
The official said, on Tuesday early morning Emirates flight EK512 from Dubai landed at the Delhi airport.
DIAL has taken various measures to help passengers whose flights have been cancelled due to the crisis.
More than 400 additional seating arrangements, including recliners, have been put in place and washroom teams have been augmented to ensure clean facilities for stranded passengers, the official said.
Two additional medical teams have also been deployed.
The Indira Gandhi International Airport, operated by DIAL, handles over 1,300 flights daily.

"In recent days, we have not only witnessed an intensification of the conflict but also its spread to other nations. The destruction and deaths have mounted, even as normal life and economic activities come to a halt," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.
"As a proximate neighbour with critical stakes in the security and stability of the region, these developments evoke great anxiety," it said.
The MEA, however, did not mention the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the US-Israel strike.
"There are almost one crore Indian citizens who live and work in the Gulf region. Their safety and well-being is of utmost priority. We cannot be impervious to any development that negatively affects them," it said.
"Our trade and energy supply chains also traverse this geography. Any major disruption has serious consequences for the Indian economy."
"As a country whose nationals are prominent in the global workforce, India is also firmly opposed to attacks on merchant shipping," it said.

The MEA said that already, some Indian nationals have lost their lives or are missing as a result of the attacks in the last few days.

In a scathing criticism of the Modi government, Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday said its silence on the targeted assassination of Iran&rsquo;s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is not neutral but an abdication, and raises serious doubts about the direction and credibility of India&rsquo;s foreign policy.
The former Congress president also demanded that when Parliament reconvenes for the second part of the Budget session, the government&rsquo;s &ldquo;disturbing silence&rdquo; over the breakdown of international order must be debated openly and without evasion.
In her article published in The Indian Express, Gandhi said there is an urgent need for &ldquo;us to rediscover&rdquo; the moral strength and articulate it with clarity and commitment.
&ldquo;On March 1, Iran confirmed that its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, had been assassinated in targeted strikes carried out the previous day by the United States and Israel. The killing of a sitting head of state in the midst of ongoing negotiations marks a grave rupture in contemporary international relations,&rdquo; Gandhi said.
Yet, beyond the shock of the event, what stands out equally starkly is New Delhi&rsquo;s silence, she said.
The Government of India has refrained from condemning the assassination or the violation of Iranian sovereignty, she noted.
&lsquo;Initially, ignoring the massive US-Israeli onslaught, the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) confined himself to condemning Iran&rsquo;s retaliatory strike on the UAE without addressing the sequence of events that preceded it. Later, he uttered platitudes about his &lsquo;deep concern&rsquo; and talked of &lsquo;dialogue and diplomacy&rsquo; &mdash; which is precisely what was underway before the massive unprovoked attacks launched by Israel and the US,&rdquo; Gandhi said.
&ldquo;When the targeted killing of a foreign leader draws no clear defence of sovereignty or international law from our country and impartiality is abandoned, it raises serious doubts about the direction and credibility of our foreign policy,&rdquo; Gandhi said in her article.
Silence, in this instance, is not neutral, she asserted.
Gandhi pointed out that the assassination was carried out without a formal declaration of war and during an ongoing diplomatic process.
&ldquo;Article 2 (4) of the United Nations Charter prohibits the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state. A targeted killing of a serving head of state strikes at the heart of these principles,&rdquo; she said.
If such acts pass without principled objection from the world&rsquo;s largest democracy, the erosion of international norms becomes easier to normalise, she argued.
&ldquo;The unease is compounded by the timing. Barely 48 hours before the assassination, the Prime Minister returned from a visit to Israel, where he reiterated unequivocal support for the government of Benjamin Netanyahu, even as the Gaza conflict continues to draw global outrage over the scale of civilian casualties, many of them women and children,&rdquo; Gandhi said.
At a time when much of the Global South, along with major powers and India&rsquo;s partners in BRICS such as Russia and China, have kept their distance, India&rsquo;s high-profile political endorsement without moral clarity marks a visible and troubling departure, she said.
&ldquo;The consequences of this event extend beyond geopolitics. The ripples of this tragedy are visible across continents. And India&rsquo;s stance is signalling tacit endorsement of this tragedy,&rdquo; she claimed.
Gandhi pointed out that the Congress has unequivocally condemned the bombings and targeted assassinations on Iranian soil, describing them as a dangerous escalation with grave regional and global consequences.
&ldquo;We have extended condolences to the Iranian people and to Shia communities worldwide, reiterating that India&rsquo;s foreign policy is anchored in the peaceful settlement of disputes, as reflected in Article 51 of the Constitution of India. These principles &lsquo; sovereign equality, non-intervention and the promotion of peace &lsquo; have historically been integral to India&rsquo;s diplomatic identity. The present reticence, therefore, appears not merely tactical, but discordant with our stated principles,&rdquo; she said.
The present government would do well to remember that in April 2001, the then prime minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, during an official visit to Tehran, warmly reaffirmed India&rsquo;s deep ties with Iran, both civilisational and contemporary, Gandhi said.
&ldquo;His (Vajpayee&rsquo;s) acknowledgement of those long-standing relations seems to hold no relevance for our current government,&rdquo; she said.
Noting that India&rsquo;s ties with Israel have, in recent years, expanded across defence, agriculture and technology, the Congress leader said it is precisely because India maintains relations with both Tehran and Tel Aviv that it possesses diplomatic space to urge restraint.
&ldquo;But such space depends on credibility. Credibility, in turn, rests on the perception that India speaks from principle rather than expediency.
&ldquo;This is not merely a moral proposition; it is a strategic necessity. Nearly 10 million Indians live and work across the Gulf. In past crises &ndash; from the Gulf War to Yemen to Iraq and Syria &ndash; India&rsquo;s ability to safeguard its citizens has rested on its credibility as an independent actor, not as a proxy,&rdquo; she argued.
She further asked as to why should countries in the Global South trust India to defend their territorial integrity tomorrow if it appears hesitant to defend that principle today.
&ldquo;The appropriate forum for resolving this dissonance is Parliament. When it reconvenes, this disturbing silence over the breakdown of international order must be debated openly and without evasion,&rdquo; Gandhi said.
The targeted killing of a foreign head of state, the erosion of international norms, and the widening instability in West Asia are not peripheral matters; they touch directly upon India&rsquo;s strategic interests and moral commitments, she asserted.
&ldquo;A clear articulation of India&rsquo;s position is overdue. Democratic accountability demands no less, and strategic clarity requires it,&rdquo; Gandhi said.
&ldquo;India has long invoked the ideal of vasudhaiva kutumbakam &lsquo; the world is one family. That civilisational ethos is not a slogan for ceremonial diplomacy; it implies a commitment to justice, restraint and dialogue, even when doing so is inconvenient.
&ldquo;At moments when the rules-based order is under visible strain, silence is abdication,&rdquo; Gandhi said.
India has long-aspired to be more than a regional power and it has sought to serve as the conscience-keeper of the world, she said.
That stature was built on a willingness to speak for sovereignty, peace, non-violence and justice even when doing so was inconvenient, she said.
&ldquo;At this moment, there is an urgent need for us to rediscover that moral strength and articulate it with clarity and commitment,&rdquo; Gandhi said.
Khamenei was killed in a major attack by Israel and the US in the early hours of Saturday.
