Farmers' agitation: gatherings banned at Delhi-UP border, no entry for protesters

In view of the protesting farmers' call for a march to Delhi on February 13, Delhi Police has said that prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 144 will be imposed.

In an order, the police prohibited public gatherings at all borders between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Entry of tractors, trolleys, buses, trucks, commercial vehicles, personal vehicles and horses carrying protesters has been prohibited.

The order further said that no person would be allowed to bear arms, including firearms, swords and spears.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha had announced 'Delhi Chalo' march by more than 200 farmers' unions on February 13 to press the Centre for accepting several demands.

Meanwhile, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee general secretary Pandher condemned the Haryana government for its decision of suspending the mobile internet services and bulk SMS in seven districts.
