Disdained politician Shrikant Tyagi on Monday moved a surrender application in Noida court saying he was not evading. Tyagi's lawyers reportedly said their client was ready to cooperate, and was not hiding. 
They also urged for his judicial custody. The court has reserved the matter for August 10, as per a report by Republic World. 
Following Tyagi's 'fleeing' speculationt, Noida Police announced a bounty of Rs 25,000 for his arrest earlier in the day.

Former JD(U) leader RCP Singh was the only representative of the party in the Union cabinet. He tendered his resignation on Sunday after his party sought explantion from him over courrption allegations. Singh was also denied a Rajya Sabha seat by his party for the Upper House polls in June.

The Chamba District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) said Bhadoga and Kandhwara villages were hit by sudden heavy rains in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
At Bhadoga, Vijay Kumar (15) died and two other people sustained injuries, the state disaster management department said.
At Kandhwara, a PWD bridge over Shalei Kandhwara nullah and agricultural land were damaged, they said.
Meanwhile, five houses in the adjacent Gulel village were evacuated due to the overflow of water and people were shifted to safer places, the department said.

Dubey said that he would raise the issue in the Parliament if it is allowed to function. He also called for an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into a "conspiracy to break the nation".
The BJP MP added, "Government of India should impose President's Rule in Jharkhand. If the entire state is moving towards Islamisation, Bangladesh refugees are being given shelter, ISI activities are increasing. What other options are there? If country doesn't survive, then nothing will survive. This is a big conspiracy to break the nation. Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha are involved in this. Congress has broken the nation once, but wants to do it again."
Jharkhand officials have said that unilateral action by schools without government approval is being probed.

A list of alleged "illegal colonisers" of land in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya has landed some politicians in hot water in the temple district.
The list features Ayodhya City Mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay, incumbent MLA from Ayodhya Sadar constituency Ved Prakash Gupta, and former legislator from Milkipur Gorakhnath Baba, according to an Indian Express report.
The list of 40 "illegal colonisers" of land plots and building infrastructure was issued by the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA). ADA Vice Chairman was quoted by the Indian Express as saying that the list is "premature", and wrongly "leaked".
Earlier, the UP government had constituted a one-member committee to probe land deals by public servants in Ayodhya following the November 2019 verdict by the Supreme Court in favour of a Ram Temple in the ancient city.

Claiming that the allegation was baseless, Ali asserted that some local TMC leaders were trying to place people with dubious backgrounds into the party's block-level organisation.
"Some local TMC leaders ransacked my car and the ground floor of my house. The allegation of financial transactions in lieu of allotting party posts is baseless and politically motivated to malign me," he said.
Some local leaders are “involved in such dealings and are trying to ensure entry of such people in the block-level organisation”, Ali, a former Lok Sabha MP, told a news channel.
A huge police contingent was deputed in the Bhagobangola area following the vandalism.
A local TMC leader alleged that Ali was sidelining party old-timers over the last few years.
"He hardly understands local political equations and is trying to thrust his arbitrary decisions on everyone," he said.
TMC's district chairman Abu Taher Khan said he would look into the complaints.

Never heard about any major crisis in the NDA," said Ram Nath Thakur, a Rajya Sabha member, low key but known to enjoy proximity to the chief minister by virtue of being the son of late Karpoori Thakur, the latter's political mentor.
Another confidant of Kumar, Leshi Singh, who is an MLA and a minister in his cabinet, said, “I was away for the last four or five days but I have an idea of how things have been. There does not seem to be any major crisis facing the NDA government. It goes without saying, though, that the party will abide by any decision taken by the chief minister”.
Meanwhile, MLAs of the opposition RJD, the largest party in the state assembly, have also been commanded by their leader Tejashwi Yadav to remain present at a meeting which will be held at his mother Rabri Devi’s Circular Road bungalow, a stone’s throw from the CM’s Anney Marg residence.

The Transport Department of the government had passed an order stating that certain existing norms for procuring driving licenses will be eased to ensure convenience to the general public from Monday onwards.
However, sources claimed that the government will deliberate on the revised criteria for Automated Driving Test Tracks before its implementation.
Sources said that Transport Minister will once again reassess the guidelines before they are implemented.
The Delhi government had issued orders to make modifications at various automated driving test tracks, in view of the rising number of instances of people flunking their tests, officials had said on Saturday.
The Transport Department had constituted a committee to look into the matter which recommended making some modifications. These modifications were supposed to come into effect from August 8.
"There were rising instances of people failing their driving tests due to things that were not concerned with driving. For instance, the width of the last circle on which two-wheeler drivers had to do spiral maneuvering was smaller than the other two circles, which meant that for safety purposes, people had to put their feet to the ground. This meant they would flunk their test," an official had explained.

The incident took place on August 6 while the accused was attending a function organised by a man named Qutubddin to celebrate the birth of his child, police said.
After receiving information about the firing incident, the police rushed to the spot and found that the injured children had already been shifted to the JPC hospital by their parents and locals, a senior police officer said.
The complainant Wasim told the police that with a pistol in his hand, Aamir had started scolding the children for playing on the street and asked them to leave, he said.
When Wasim noticed this, he had a heated argument with Aamir following which the accused fired a bullet, police said.
"The bullet rebounded and the three children, aged between 7-13 years, sustained injuries. After firing the bullet, Aamir fled the spot," the officer said.
All the injured children are out of danger now, police said.
A case was registered under sections of attempt to murder (307) of the Indian Penal Code and other sections of Arms Act at Seelampur police station, he said.
"During investigation, a police team scanned and analyzed footage from CCTV cameras in the vicinity to ascertain the escape route of the culprit.
"Technical surveillance as well human sources were also deployed. Within hours, police team zeroed-in on his location and Aamir was apprehended," said Sanjay Sain Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast).
A sophisticated semi-automatic pistol, loaded with two live cartridges, was recovered from his possession, he said.

According to the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the number of cases wherein drones or UFOs were detected around airports across the country were 11 in 2019, he said in his written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha.
There was no incident of drones or UFOs around Indian airports in 2020, he mentioned.
In 2021 and 2022, there were six and two incidents wherein drones or UFOs detected around Indian airports, respectively, he noted.
"Of the above-mentioned cases, two have been reported in border states or Union Territories -- Surat Airport (Gujarat) on February 2, 2021, and Jammu Airport (Jammu and Kashmir) on June 27, 2021," he mentioned.
