The Army has been deployed for relief and rescue efforts while IAF airdropped food materials in flood hit areas.

In the coastal state of Kerala at the other end of the country, normal life remains affected too.

IMD, meanwhile has forecasted continued rains until Sunday in Kerala. The state is expected to witness heavy rains in nine districts.
