'Won't let Wayanad feel brother's absence': Priyanka Gandhi

In a major political development, Congress has decided to field Priyanka from the Wayanad seat, which will be vacated by Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul had won both Raebraeli and Wayanad in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. According to Parliamentary rules, a leader can't represent two Lok Sabha constituencies simultaneously. If elected from both the seats, then the leader has to vacate one.

After the announcement, Priyanka said that she wouldn't let Wayanad feel his brother Rahul's absence.

I am very happy to be able to represent Wayanad and I will not let them feel his (Rahul Gandhi's) absence. I will work hard and I will try my best to make everyone happy and be a good representative. I have a very old relationship with Raebareli and Amethi and it cannot be broken. I will also help my brother in Raebareli. We will both be present in Raebareli and Wayanad."
