Even as INDIA bloc leaders make a last-ditch attempt to coax Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu into breaking away from the NDA faction, Narendra Modi chaired a key meeting of the alliance leaders to discuss the government formation process in New Delhi on Wednesday.

In the meeting, Naidu and Kumar, who have emerged as kingmakers, were also present.

Though Narendra Modi was unanimously chosen as the leader of the NDA group, Kumar is believed to have told the BJP leader not to delay the government formation.

India Today, quoting sources, reported that Kumar told Modi “Jaldi Kijiye."

“There should not be any delay in forming the government. We should do it as soon as possible," Kumar reportedly told Modi, according to India Today's sources.

Narendra Modi will reportedly be sworn-in, along with other Cabinet ministers on June 8.

PTI news agency reported that the formalities will be completed quickly to avoid any last-minute uncertainty that could spoil the unity of the NDA alliance.

Twenty-one leaders from 16 parties, including TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, LJP(R) leader Chirag Paswan, JD(S) leader H D Kumarawamy, Jana Sena's Pawan Kalyan, AGP's Atul Bora and NCP's Praful Patel attended the NDA meeting on Wednesday.
