US political scientist predicts this many seats for BJP in 2024 Lok Sabha election

Even as Indian political pundits are wrapping around their heads on how many seats will the BJP win in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, a noted US political scientist has weighed in, saying that Narendra Modi's party will better its 2019 numbers.

Speaking to ANI news agency, Ian Bremmer said that BJP will win at least 295 seats, and can go up to 315 Lok Sabha seats.

"Prediction for elections for Eurasia group is 305±10 seats. Really not much of a change from what we saw 5 years ago. Internationally, not just from the US perspective, but from the perspective of the rest of the world," he told ANI news agency.

The American political scientist has also predicted that India could be the 3rd largest economy by 2028.

"From the perspective of the rest of the world, India is an economy that has underperformed for a long time but is now doing a lot better".

“This is also a country that was very inward-focused for a long time, but this region is now becoming much more of a global leader," he opined.
