Swati Maliwal breaks down as Delhi court hears Bibhav Kumar's bail plea

A magisterial court on Monday reserved till 4 pm its order on the bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar in the Swati Maliwal assault case.

Kumar is accused of assaulting the AAP Rajya Sabha member at the chief minister's residence on May 13.

He was sent to four days' judicial custody on May 24.

Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal reserved the order after hearing the arguments.

While hearing of Bibhav's bail plea, the Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha member broke down after the lawyer representing Arvind Kejriwal's former aide alleged that Maliwal the incident was 'premeditated' and she purposely chose the spot for assault where there were no CCTVs installed, India Today reported.

The lawyer further said, that what Maliwal did on May 13 "amounts to trespass".

In her argument, Maliwal claimed that she, along with her family will face threat to life if Kumar is granted bail.

Meanwhile, Maliwal's lawyer said Kumar was not cooperating in the probe and evading questions asked by the police.

Additionally, during the hearing the Delhi Police said the AAP MP was asked to wait in the living room, which indicates that she was not the tresspasser.
