The opposition party also claimed that the Narendra Modi government's foreign policy has completely "fallen flat".
The US has issued an advisory for its citizens travelling to India, urging "increased caution" due to crime and rape, and advising them not to travel to certain parts of central and eastern parts of the country due to terrorism.
The travel advisory issued last week states that "rape is one of the fastest growing crimes in India" and violent crimes, including sexual assault, happen at tourist sites and other locations. It added that terrorists, who target tourist locations, transportation hubs, markets, shopping malls and government facilities, may attack with little or no warning.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress' Indira Bhawan headquarters here, party spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said the reality is that the US has issued a travel advisory of Level 2 and has advised its women, especially, not to travel alone to India, citing various cases of rapes.
"It also goes on to say that various kinds of crimes, incidents of violence and terror attacks can happen in India. It very categorically mentions that American officials will need permission from the government before their travel to India... This kind of advisory is being issued for India, which will have far-reaching impact on our standing," she said.
"However, nothing of this kind of advisory has been issued for Pakistan, which is a terror country, housing terrorists such as Masood Azhar, Hafiz Saeed, Dawood Ibrahim, etc., they are being provided protection by Pakistan. On the contrary, an advisory is being issued against us while Pakistan's Army Chief Asim Munir is being invited to enjoy a meal with US President Trump, who has, in turn, hyphenated India and Pakistan," Shrinate said.
She said it is highly objectionable that the Indian prime minister and Pakistan's Army Chief are being hyphenated.
The reality is that in the last 11 years, Prime Minister Modi has spent a disproportionate amount of time pursuing foreign powers, she said.
"From enforceable hugs to 'Howdy Modi', 'Namaste Trump', and 'Ab Ki Baar Trump Sarkaar', to going to the US uninvited. He has done everything possible, and look at what America is doing to us," she said.
"At a time when we need large nations of the world to stand with us, America is issuing travel advisories against us and citing incidents that pertain to the rest of the world. But this really maligns us, and what is the government doing about it? Absolutely nothing. Pin drop silence like always," Shrinate said.
The reality is that Trump has taken credit for the "ceasefire" between India and Pakistan 17 times, she said.
"He (Trump) imposed tariffs on us. He called us an abuser and a fraud. He has put our people in handcuffs and sent them back to India. He is constantly insulting us, and our government chooses to keep quiet. The question arises: what is the cornerstone of our foreign policy? It is to keep India's interest above all," Shrinate said.
"But Mr Modi's foreign policy is to get the right camera angle so that he is shot from the good camera angle wherever he is in the world. Our foreign minister is too busy making reels with laser red eyes. So who do you expect to pursue foreign policy from?" she asked.
Shrinate said she has no qualms in admitting and saying that on one hand, travel advisories are being issued against us but nothing on Pakistan, while "we are completely mute spectators".
"We don't say a word! There are certain aspects which travel advisories have raised which are obviously troublesome, and we should find solutions to them. We should ensure our women are safe, and if every hour, 43 women face a crime against them, then questions will and must be raised," she said.
She claimed the foreign front, the Modi government's foreign policy has completely "fallen flat".
"At a time when we need allies to stand with us, they are issuing travel advisories against us. A travel advisory is very damning, and it impacts the number of tourists that will visit India, the funds generated by tourism, and the level of investments associated with those sectors. So these are very damning advisories. Yet, the Modi government is absolutely silent," she said.
"Therefore, we demand that the Indian government should register its protest and take a stern view of this advisory at the highest level. It is not in good faith, this is not good for our country, and it shows the doublespeak of the US. On one hand you are issuing advisories against us but nothing on Pakistan," Shrinate said.
The US advisory issued on June 16 also tells US citizens not to travel to parts of Central and East India "due to terrorism".
"Maoist extremist groups, or 'Naxalites', are active in a large area of India that spans from eastern Maharashtra and northern Telangana through western West Bengal,&rdquo; the advisory said.
US government employees working in India are required to obtain permission prior to travel to most areas in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Odisha. It said permission is not required for the capital of these states.

Several ministers and the BJP MLAs hailed the government's initiative and posted pictures on social media platforms of pothole repair work going on in their respective constituencies.
"These potholes were damaging the roads for the past several years. Hence, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took this decision that in one day 3,400 potholes will be filled," Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa told reporters.
The PWD earlier identified and geo-tagged all potholes on the 1,400 kilometers of road network under its jurisdiction just before the monsoon.
Around 60 per cent of the potholes had been filled by 12 pm, said officials.

Even till last day, tents were not erected and kanwar committees would get into trouble," Gupta said, adding that "crores" would be spent on the exercise.
"Ending all corruption, we have decided that all 'kanwar' committees involved in the process will get direct benefit transfer. There will be no contractor involved and no tendering process," she said at a press conference.
Gupta said the committees that are not registered will have time till July 30 to apply for permission.
"For traffic and security also we will have meetings and we will ensure that people face no problems. Civil defence volunteers will also help in the camps," she said.

The discussion with MAMC students at the Delhi Secretariat focused on key concerns such as the dilapidated condition of hostels, campus security, poor lighting, shortage of security personnel, illegal encroachments, and the need to ensure a fear-free environment for students, an official statement said.
Gupta directed all concerned officials to take immediate and concrete measures. Senior officials from the Health Department, Public Works Department (PWD), college administration, and student union representatives were present during the meeting, it said.
Last week, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, along with Gupta and Health Minister Pankaj Singh, chaired a meeting to review the security and other infrastructure in MAMC, Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Hospital, and the Guru Nanak Eye Centre Complex situated in the heart of the national capital.
During the meeting it was found that there were lapses in the security of the students and doctors and there was an acute shortage of accommodation.
Civil infrastructure is in shambles in these hospitals and there is a severe lack of space due to encroachments, officials had informed the LG in the meeting.
Gupta met the doctors on Monday at Delhi Secretariat.
"I am shocked at the irresponsibility of the previous educated governments. It&rsquo;s appalling to see the poor state of such a prestigious institution like Maulana Azad Medical College and the condition of the students studying here," she said.
Students highlighted the poor condition of hostel walls and ceilings, which pose a risk to life and safety, the statement said, adding that the lack of adequate lighting at night inside the campus also makes it unsafe.
Female students particularly raised concerns over the shortage of security guards, insufficient facilities, and an unsafe environment. Encroachments within the campus were also reported as a daily obstacle.
Expressing deep concern over the state of MAMC hostels, Gupta said that the seven hostels built between 1966 and 1990 were designed for only 1,200 students. Currently around 3,200 students are residing there in extremely cramped and substandard conditions with eight beds in a room, shared cupboards and no provision for basic amenities like study tables.
She termed this situation as "gravely concerning" and indicative of the severe negligence and lack of accountability on the part of previous governments.
Gupta directed PWD officials to immediately begin repair and renovation work of the hostels to improve living conditions. She further directed that high-intensity LED street lights be installed across the campus to enhance night-time safety, the statement added.
Additionally, 24x7 CCTV surveillance and increased deployment of security personnel will strengthen overall security. A special drive will be launched to ensure smoother movement and a safer environment within the campus.
She also directed to expedite plan for an additional hostel which has been pending for long time. Gupta directed officials to submit progress reports every 15 days to ensure regular monitoring and accountability.
She also said that she will personally visit the MAMC campus to inspect the situation and engage directly with students. "Students of prestigious institutions like MAMC are our future, and we will extend every possible support to them," Gupta added.

"On reaching the spot, it was found that a female patient admitted inside Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital (JPC) was sexually assaulted by another patient admitted in the same ward," a senior police officer said in a statement.
The accused, identified as Md Faiz, a resident of Kachchi Khajuri in Delhi, was arrested on the spot, police said.
A case has been registered under relevant provisions of law at New Usmanpur Police Station, and further investigation is underway.&nbsp;

The city recorded AQI readings of 89, 80 and 96 on June 19, June 18 and June 17 respectively -- all falling within the "satisfactory" range. On Monday, the air quality was recorded in the "moderate" category, with a reading of 111.
According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered "good", 51 and 100 "satisfactory", 101 and 200 "moderate", 201 and 300 "poor", 301 and 400 "very poor", and 401 and 500 "severe".
A "yellow" alert for thunderstorms and rains has been issued.
Humidity levels fluctuated between 77 per cent in the morning and 66 per cent in the evening.

Atishi accused the BJP of using diversion tactics to cover up its failures on the governance front.
"There are long power cuts across Delhi, water shortage in homes while roads remain waterlogged. But instead of solving these issues, the BJP is busy running fake cases to mislead the public," Atishi alleged.
She further charged that the BJP is colluding with the "education mafia" to shut down government schools and promote private institutions.
"They want to shut down Delhi's government schools under the guise of scams that don't exist. Headlines don't prove corruption," she said.
There was no immediate response from the BJP over the allegations.
Hitting out at Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Atishi asked, "Apart from painting mohalla clinics and renaming them health temples, what has she really given to the people of Delhi?"

An IMD official confirmed that the system is likely to reach Delhi by June 22, ahead of the normal onset date of June 30.
According to the weather department's extended-range forecast, the primary rain-bearing system will cover the remaining parts of the country in the following week, well ahead of the usual dates.

Monsoon advanced quickly from June 16 to June 18 due to two low-pressure systems forming on June 17 -- one over West Bengal and the other over Gujarat.
The rain system usually makes its onset over Kerala by June 1, reaches Mumbai by June 11 and covers the entire country by July 8. It starts retreating from northwest India around September 17 and withdraws completely by October 15.
Meteorologists say the date of monsoon onset does not directly correlate with the total seasonal rainfall. An early or delayed arrival in Kerala or Mumbai does not necessarily indicate similar progress in other parts of the country.
They say monsoon is influenced by complex global, regional and local factors, and is marked by significant variability.
In May, the IMD had forecast that India was likely to receive 106 per cent of the long-period average (LPA) rainfall of 87 cm during the June-September monsoon season. Rainfall between 96 per cent and 104 per cent of this 50-year average is considered "normal".
Above-normal rainfall is expected in most parts of the country, except Ladakh, adjoining areas of Himachal Pradesh, the northeast and some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha.
Some isolated areas in Punjab, Haryana, Kerala and Tamil Nadu may record below-normal rainfall.
Monsoon is crucial for India's agriculture sector, which supports the livelihood of around 42 per cent of the population and contributes 18.2 per cent to the GDP.
It also plays a key role in replenishing the reservoirs essential for drinking water and power generation.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi remained in the 'satisfactory' category for the 12th consecutive day on Monday, the cleanest spell recorded so far this year.
Most parts of the city recorded below-normal maximum temperatures due to rain in the early hours.
The AQI was recorded at 85 at 4 pm on Monday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
It has remained below 100 throughout the last 12 days, after plunging from 134 (moderate category) on June 25 to 94 (satisfactory) on June 26.
According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor', and 401 to 500 'severe'.
The national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius on Monday, 1.6 degrees above the season's average. The minimum temperature was at 22.9 degrees Celsius, while the relative humidity stood at 73 per cent at 5.30 pm.
Multiple areas across the capital witnessed light to moderate rainfall, with visuals showing waterlogged roads and commuters wading through puddles under grey skies. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded 12.0 mm of rainfall.
The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Tuesday, predicting light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively, it said.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday said her government is working on long-term solutions for clean and sustainable transportation, after the government urged the Centre's air quality panel to immediately suspend the fuel ban on overage vehicles.
In his letter to Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) chairman Rajesh Verma, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the fuel ban is not feasible and that it cannot be implemented due to technological challenges. The move came three days after the ban came into effect in the national capital.
"In view of the hardships being faced by the citizens of Delhi, our government has written to the CAQM, requesting a reconsideration of the decision to stop supplying fuel to end-of-life (EOL) vehicles. This decision is adversely affecting the daily lives and livelihoods of millions of families," Gupta said in a post on X in Hindi.
She said her government is fully committed to controlling air pollution and is working on long-term solutions for clean and sustainable transportation.
"However, while implementing any decision, it is equally important to maintain a balance with the social and economic needs of the citizens," she added.
Gupta said through a letter sent by Sirsa, they have urged that this order be immediately put on hold in the public interest, "and that a practical, just, and phased solution be formulated after consultations with all stakeholders".
The Delhi government stands firmly with the people of Delhi in its commitment to public welfare and convenience, she said.&nbsp;

Senior AAP leader and former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday accused the BJP-led Delhi government of waging another "assault on the middle class" through its recent order banning refuelling of overage vehicles in the capital.
Sisodia's statement comes amid the BJP government defending the move and calling it a necessary step in its ongoing pollution control efforts.
"The BJP government has issued a tyrannical order to remove 61 lakh vehicles from Delhi's roads. This is not governance; this is 'Phulera ki Panchayat'. Families who've maintained their vehicles with care are now being punished. Even those vehicles that have travelled less than 10,000 km are being deemed unfit," Sisodia said in a press conference.
Effective July 1, petrol vehicles older than 15 years and diesel vehicles older than 10 years were prohibited from refuelling in Delhi. The order was part of an intensified crackdown on End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs) and is backed by automated surveillance.
Penalties include fines of Rs 10,000 for four-wheelers and Rs 5,000 for two-wheelers, along with possible impounding and towing charges.
Sisodia questioned the motives behind the policy, asking, "Who benefits from this? Vehicle manufacturers, scrap dealers, and number plate companies. Is it a coincidence that this order came just before taxi fares were allowed to increase?"&nbsp;
He also accused the BJP of hypocrisy, saying, "They defied a Supreme Court Constitutional Bench order with an overnight ordinance. Now they say they can't help 61 lakh Delhi families?"

The ban on supply of fuel to old vehicles kicked off in Delhi on Tuesday amid high security.
The Delhi government has installed Automatic Number Plate reader cameras (ANPR) at nearly 350 petrol pumps across the national capital for detection of such vehicles.
The transport department has chalked out a detailed deployment plan involving personnel from its organisation, Delhi Police, Traffic Police and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
Multiple teams of transport department, traffic police and local police have been deployed at different petrol pumps in South Delhi.
The drive began from 6 am on Tuesday, enforcing the prohibition of fuel sale to petrol vehicles older than 15 years and diesel vehicles older than 10 years.
At Chirag Delhi's Dhingra petrol pump, the Transport Enforcement and Delhi Traffic Police teams were seen stationed since early morning.
"We are here from 6 am to ensure that no old vehicle is allowed to refuel. Petrol pumps have been directed to deny fuel to such vehicles," said Sub-Inspector Dharamveer of the Transport Enforcement team.
He said that Artificial Intelligence-powered cameras and automated hooter systems have also been installed at the pump to identify old vehicles.
"If any such vehicle arrives, the cameras detect it instantly and trigger a hooter to alert the staff," said Dharamveer, adding that in such cases, the vehicles are being impounded on the spot.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Jagan Lal of Delhi Traffic Police said that they are verifying vehicle details using their central database.
"The cameras will inform automatically, but our teams are also checking vehicles using our central database. The drive is being carried out jointly with local police and transport officials to ensure full compliance and to maintain law and order," said ASI Jagan Lal.
Hriday Ram, a staff member at the Dhingra petrol pump, said, "We have been instructed not to fill fuel in any old vehicle. The moment such a vehicle is detected by the camera or by us, we alert the police or enforcement team immediately." The move is part of the Delhi government's effort to tackle air pollution.
A 2018 Supreme Court judgment had banned diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years in Delhi. A 2014 National Green Tribunal order also prohibits the parking of vehicles aged over 15 years in public places.&nbsp;

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday flagged off 105 new orange-coloured DEVI (Delhi EV Inter-connector) electric buses and inaugurated the newly built Sector A9 depot in Narela, calling it a step towards cleaner and more efficient public transport for the capital.
Gupta said the depot was completed in just 90 days and claimed it reflects the BJP government's commitment to deliver on promises made to Delhi residents.
She also attacked the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of pushing Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) into losses and fostering a corrupt system.
"Buses are Delhi's lifeline. But under the previous government, routes were cut, buses reduced, and corruption seeped in," she said. Referring to the CAG report, Gupta claimed that DTC had incurred losses amounting to Rs 65,000 crore during the earlier regime.
She alleged that even the free bus ride scheme for women was marred by corruption and panic buttons were installed "just for show".
Highlighting features of the new nine-metre-long electric buses, Gupta said they are equipped with air conditioning, panic buttons, and real-time monitoring systems. "When we removed paper tickets and moved to cards, AAP spread lies that women would no longer travel for free. But the move was only to curb corruption," she said.
Meanwhile, Delhi Transport Minister Pankaj Singh, who was present at the event, said the previous government denied people their right to better buses. "These buses should have arrived by last monsoon, but the former government failed to deliver. Today, the BJP is fulfilling that promise," he said.
He said that earlier DEVI buses were green in colour, and this is the first time an entire fleet of orange-coloured buses has been introduced. This adds more vibrancy, and we will continue increasing their numbers, as we have been doing since the launch of the DEVI buses.
Delhi BJP leader Yogender Chandolia dismissed AAP's claim that this was just a rebranding exercise. "If these were AAP's buses, they would have been on the roads months ago. These are new buses, purchased and brought in under the BJP. AAP never procured small electric buses - they reused old ones," he said.
Chandolia said the new compact DEVI buses, with seating for 23 and standing space for 17 passengers, are ideal for navigating Delhi's narrow lanes and will benefit people. "This is the real Rekha Gupta Model - clean, modern, and efficient public transport," he added.
Currently, Delhi operates around 2,000 electric buses, and officials said the number will continue to rise, with a goal of achieving 100 per cent electrification of the bus fleet by 2027.
