Modi's infiltrator remark: Cong urges EC to take action, CPI(M) sends complaint to Delhi Police chief

The opposition continued its attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the Election Commission being urged to take action for his alleged divisive and malicious speech made during a rally in Rajasthan.

Modi had sparked a row after he said that Congress would distribute wealth among infiltrators. The opposition claimed that the speech was referring to Muslims and classified it as hate speech.

While the Congress deplored EC to set a precedent, the CPI(M) and a group of civil activists approached the Delhi Police on April 22 evening, asking the police to file a complaint against the prime minister.

The party said that Mandir Marg police station refused to accept the complaint, and added that the complaint has been sent to the Delhi commissioner of police.
