Delhi woman shares encounter with 'thak thak' gang, shares tips on how to be safe

A Delhi woman shared a post on X in which she shared her terrifying encounter with 'thak thak' gang on Delhi road. The 'thak thak' gang is infamous for targeting drivers on roads or parked vehicles to steal valuables.

The woman who goes by the name Gayatri shared a post on X in which she said that she was driving through a rather chaotic traffic jam and at that time, a man who was crossing the road came back knocking on her car window and tried to open the door.

The woman mentioned in her post that her car door was locked so the man started aggressively asking her to pull down her window and said that she drove over his foot.

Her post further mentioned, "Even if he had walked behind my car to cross the road, in no logical way his feet can come under my car as I was driving straight ahead at 5kmph unless he deliberately put something under my back tyre."

The woman further said that this is a new modus operandi to loot women and this was her second such experience in a year on the same outer ring road.

She further shared tips on how to be safe:

"1. Always keep car windows rolled up and doors locked.
2. Never open door or window if someone instigates you to.
3. Call police or drive to nearest police station if intruder persists."

She shared the post on X on December 5, 2023, and at the time of writing this, her post has managed to garner more than 162k views.
