New Delhi: The capital experienced a spell of rain on Tuesday morning, with further showers and thunderstorms anticipated throughout the day, as per the weather department's forecast. The minimum temperature dropped to 23.9 degrees Celsius, which is 2.5 degrees below the usual level, whereas the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 31 degrees Celsius.

Over the past 24 hours up to 8:30 am on Tuesday, Safdarjung, the main weather station for the city, registered 10.4 mm of rainfall. Other areas also recorded notable rainfall, with Palam reporting 8.9 mm, Lodhi Road 5.4 mm, Ridge 12.6 mm, and Pitampura 16 mm, as detailed by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The humidity level stood at 100 percent at 8:30 am. Meanwhile, Delhi's air quality was classified as satisfactory, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) measured at 55, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Based on CPCB's standards, an AQI between zero and 50 is regarded as “good,” 51 to 100 as “satisfactory,” 101 to 200 as “moderate,” 201 to 300 as “poor,” 301 to 400 as “very poor,” and 401 to 500 as “severe.”
