Teen Brutally Murdered by Eight in Delhi's Haiderpur Area

New Delhi, Jul 3 (PTI) - In a shocking display of brutality, a 14-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by a group of eight individuals, including four minors, in outer north Delhi's Haiderpur area, police disclosed on Thursday. The group reportedly took turns stabbing him multiple times before discarding his naked body into a canal.

The victim, who resided in Jeevan Park in Siraspur, was purportedly kidnapped, stripped, and killed in an act of revenge.

His body was discovered near the Munak Canal on July 1, exhibiting multiple stab wounds and with a scarf tied around his neck, officials stated.

A PCR call reporting a body near a Delhi Jal Board water treatment facility was received around 3:10 p.m., prompting a police team to identify the partially decomposed remains, according to officials.

"Based on early investigations, a case was filed, and multiple teams were deployed to identify and apprehend the culprits," remarked Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outernorth) Hareshwar V Swami.

Through technical surveillance, the police first apprehended two main accused: Krishna alias Bhola (19) and one juvenile, both of whom resided in the same locality as the victim, the DCP informed.

It came to light that Krishna had been assaulted the previous year by two local criminals, Monu and Sonu, and suspected the deceased of acting as an informant in the incident.

"Bearing a grudge, Krishna, along with his associates, plotted the murder over several weeks," explained the DCP.

During the night between June 29 and 30, Krishna and seven others intercepted the victim near Veer Chowk Bazaar, kidnapped him in front of his friends, and transported him to the canal.

"At that location, they gagged him with a scarf, stripped off his clothing, and took turns stabbing him, subsequently disposing of the body in the water," the officer recounted.

The investigation led to the arrests of Ashmit alias Ashwani (18) and three additional juveniles. A motorcycle used in the crime was also confiscated, police reported. Efforts are ongoing to capture two other suspects -- Monu and Mohit -- suspected to have fled to Haridwar. Police teams have been dispatched to Uttarakhand to track them down. Further inquiries continue.
