Delhi School Bomb Threat Turns Out to be a Student's Exam Escape Plan

New Delhi, Oct 17 (PTI) A bomb threat sent via e-mail to a private school in outer Delhi was found to be a hoax, as police traced its source to a student trying to avoid exams, officials revealed on Friday.

The incident began with a PCR call received at the Paschim Vihar East Police Station on Thursday. The principal of Vishal Bharti Public School reported getting an e-mail that claimed a bomb had been planted within the school premises.

According to a senior police officer, multiple teams were dispatched to the school, implementing standard bomb threat protocols. The building was evacuated, and the Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog Squad, and Fire Department teams were called in to conduct a thorough search.

No suspicious objects were found during the searches, leading authorities to declare the threat a hoax.

A case was registered, and the cyber team launched an investigation to trace the email's origin. They determined it came from a juvenile.

The juvenile was apprehended, and during questioning, admitted to sending the threatening email to avoid exams and seek a school holiday, the officer said.
