New Delhi, Jul 1 (PTI) - Last month, the Delhi Police successfully reunited 168 missing individuals, comprising 53 children and 115 adults, with their families as part of their 'Milap' initiative, an official disclosed on Tuesday. Police sources indicated that a concerted effort was undertaken by multiple police stations in the southwest district as part of the operation. From June 1 to June 30, thirteen operations were organized involving teams from police stations at Kapashera, Sagarpur, Palam village, Vasant Kunj South, Kishangarh, among others, the police officer reported. These teams employed CCTV footage, conducted local inquiries, undertook verification at transportation hubs, and engaged with bus drivers, conductors, vendors, and local informants during their mission. Photographs of missing individuals were widely circulated, and meticulous cross-checking of hospital and police station records was performed separately. The Kapashera police managed to recover five children and 28 adults, while the Sagarpur police reunited 10 children and 20 adults, and the Palam village police also recovered four children and 20 adults, detailed the officer. In similar efforts, Vasant Kunj South police located three girls and 10 adults, Kishangarh police found eight children and three adults, and the Safdarjung Enclave police recovered one boy and 10 adults, as per the provided information. The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Delhi Police also played a pivotal role, locating 11 missing children. Vasant Vihar police traced six minor girls and three women, while the R K Puram police found nine missing individuals. Furthermore, Delhi Cantt police reunited two minor girls and four adults, Vasant Kunj North police located one girl and four others, Sarojini Nagar police recovered one girl and three adults, and South Campus police tracked down one missing woman. Since the start of the year, on January 1, the southwest district of Delhi has successfully traced 521 missing individuals, which includes 149 children and 372 adults, the officer stated.
