Tragic Delhi Stabbing: Loan Dispute Turns Deadly in Jafrabad

New Delhi, Jul 10 (PTI) A 23-year-old man was tragically stabbed to death in the Jafrabad area of northeast Delhi over a dispute involving a Rs 2,000 loan, according to an official report released on Thursday.

The incident occurred at 12:10 am. The accused, identified as Adil, attacked Fardeen after he requested the repayment of the Rs 2,000 Adil had previously borrowed from him.

"Information was received at the Jafrabad police station regarding a stabbing incident. Upon arrival at JPC Hospital, officials were informed that Fardeen had been brought in by his father and was declared dead by the doctors," a senior police officer stated.

Initial investigations indicated that Fardeen and his friend Javed were in a lane when they met Adil, the debtor, according to the officer. Fardeen's request for the return of his money allegedly provoked Adil, leading him to draw a knife and attack both Fardeen and Javed before absconding from the scene.

Police noted that Adil's brother Kamil and their father Shakeel were also present and allegedly incited the attack.

Forensic teams have inspected the crime scene and gathered evidence. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Authorities are making efforts to capture the accused and recover the weapon used in the crime. "Raids are being conducted at multiple locations, and teams have been deployed to apprehend Adil and his accomplices," said a senior police officer.

The investigation is ongoing, police added.
