Delhi liquor scam: TRS' Kavitha affirms to 'fight back'; to file defamation suit against BJP

TRS leader and Telangana CM KCR's daughter K Kavitha on Monday said she will move court seeking an injunction order against those dragging her name in the Delhi liquor scam.

The TRS MLC will file a defamation case against Delhi BJP leaders Parvesh Varma and Manjinder Singh Sirsa who alleged that Kavitha was the 'middleman' between the liquor mafia and AAP government in the scam.

Calling the allegations baseless Kavitha said she has nothing to do with ongoing scam and claimed that the saffron party was trying to malign her family's reputation.

She added that she won't step down and will put up a fight.

BJP MP Parvesh Verma has alleged that Telangana CM's family members attended meetings on the formulation of the Delhi excise policy at Oberoi Hotel.

"KCR's family members got the same policy implemented in Punjab. They prepared a plan for Delhi, along with Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal," claimed Verma.

The CBI's Friday raids at Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia's Delhi house and excise officers came after Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena last month recommended a probe by the agency into the alleged violations of rules and procedural lapses in the implementation of the policy that came into effect from November 17 last year. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and houses of excise officials were raided.
