Delhi authorities have registered more than 1,090 Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations since January 7. Police have seized 472 illegal firearms, 1,14,699 litres of illicit liquor, and Rs 11.70 crore in cash while making over 35,000 arrests.

More than 1,090 cases of alleged Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations have been registered in Delhi since its enforcement on January 7, an official confirmed on Thursday (February 6, 2025).

Between January 7 and February 5, a total of 35,020 individuals have been arrested or detained under various preventive action provisions and other legal acts, according to an official statement.

Delhi Police has reported 1,098 cases of MCC violations and seized 472 illegal firearms along with 534 cartridges, leading to the arrest of 496 individuals under the Arms Act.

Additionally, law enforcement has confiscated 1,14,699 litres of illicit liquor, arrested 1,423 individuals, and seized 206.712 kg of drugs worth over Rs 77.9 crore. Authorities have also recovered more than 1,200 banned injections, resulting in the arrest of 179 individuals.

Furthermore, the police and other agencies have seized Rs 11.70 crore in cash and 37.39 kg of silver as part of their enforcement operations, the statement added.
