Delhi CM Resumes Public Hearings Amid Heightened Security

CM Rekha Gupta resumed public hearings with heightened security measures after an attack. Citizens from across Delhi presented concerns. Sessions will expand to all Assembly constituencies.

Delhi CM Resumes Public Hearings Amid Heightened Security

New Delhi, Sep 3 (PTI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta resumed her public hearing programme at her camp office on Wednesday morning amidst stringent security measures, just two weeks after being attacked during a Jan Sunwai session.

People from various parts of the city presented their issues and requested assistance from the chief minister as the programme commenced at 8 am.

Gupta, seated on a chair, interacted with the public as individuals approached her one by one, submitting their applications and communicating through a microphone set up for this purpose.

A contingent of police personnel, including female security officers, formed an inner security ring around the chief minister as she conducted the Jan Sunwai.

Comprehensive security measures, comprising policemen frisking attendees with metal detectors and overseeing the event through CCTV cameras, were implemented to avert any incidents.

Gupta had previously been attacked by a man from Rajkot, Gujarat, during a Jan Sunwai on August 20 at her camp office, the Mukhya Mantri Jan Sewa Sadan on Raj Niwas Marg.

Additionally, the chief minister announced that Jan Sunwai programmes would be organized in all 70 Assembly constituencies across Delhi.
