Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Attacked in Alleged Conspiracy

New Delhi, Aug 21 (PTI) — A troubling incident has taken place involving Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who was attacked in what seems to be a meticulously “planned conspiracy.” Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra has alleged that the assault was carried out by a “professional criminal” with a substantial criminal history. This alarming claim points to the sinister motive behind the attack.

Mishra visited Chief Minister Gupta at her residence on Wednesday morning following the incident. After their meeting, Mishra informed the media that Gupta has sustained serious physical injuries that necessitate her taking rest. Despite this, she has been reviewing files at her residence since Wednesday. Mishra stated, “She has been actively working, but she requires rest. Her physical injuries are serious, and she is in a state of shock.”

The minister also revealed startling information about the accused, who reportedly has nine criminal cases against him. These include charges as grave as attempt to murder and smuggling. “The attack was carried out in a planned manner. The accused had conducted a reconnaissance of her residence, and two videos recovered from his phone corroborate this,” Mishra emphasized.

Chief Minister Gupta was targeted during a ‘Jan Sunwai’ programme at her home in north Delhi’s Civil Lines on Wednesday. The situation remains tense as the investigation unfolds.
