After attack, Delhi BJP MPs meet CM Gupta

New Delhi, Aug 21 (PTI) – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members of parliament from Delhi recently met with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, confirming that she is expected to resume her schedule by either Thursday or Friday. A delegation comprising all seven BJP MPs visited Gupta on Thursday following an incident where she was attacked during her 'Jan Sunwai' programme at Camp Office in north Delhi’s Civil Lines. Speaking to reporters, Harsh Malhotra, the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport & Highways, dismissed any notion of a security lapse leading up to the event. "She is doing fine. She will resume her scheduled events either from today or tomorrow. There was no security breach. The security personnel do their job with full perfection. As public representatives, we also tell our personnel to let people and party workers meet us," Malhotra stated to the press. He further assured the continuation of public meetings. In a post on X, Chandni Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal, writing in Hindi, expressed that Gupta remains committed to serving the people of Delhi. "Today, along with all my fellow MPs from Delhi, I met the popular Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs @gupta_rekha, and enquired about her well-being. The chief minister is fine and, as before, is continuously devoted to the service of the people of Delhi," Khandelwal mentioned in his post.
