'Dead' policeman gets new job at UP Police by changing name

A bizarre news has come to light that a Chhattisgarh cop who was declared a deserter by the Chhattisgarh Police managed to get a new job in the Uttar Pradesh Police. But, there's a twist as he got this job by changing his name and declaring himself dead through fake papers.

Manoj Kumar aka Sumit Kumar served in the Uttar Pradesh Police for five years and withdrew salary but little did he know the facade will blow up.

After five years of serving in the UP Police, SP Mathura received an anonymous letter about Manoj Kumar aka Sumit Kumar's forgery and thus his documents got re-checked.

In the investigation, it was found that Manoj Kumar earlier got a job in the Chhattisgarh armed police. Later, he was discharged from there because he did not join the service at the Chhattisgarh Police and remained a deserter. After this, they declared him absconder.

Currently, an FIR has been launched against him under the charges of IPC 420 (cheating), IPC 419 (cheating personation), IPC 467 (forgery) and other sections.

How did Manoj Kumar aka Sumit Kumar get the job in Uttar Pradesh Police?

As Manoj Kumar was declared an absconder by Chhattisgarh police, he got a fake death certificate. Following this, he applied for a job in the Uttar Pradesh Police recruitment board as a constable in 2015 by changing his name.

Soon enough, he got the job and was posted at Mathura. J.P. Singh, SHO Hussainganj said, "Manoj was selected in the name of Sumit and so he got a death certificate of Sumit. He then applied afresh with a new name, Manoj Kumar and got selected in the recruitment."
