Covid-19: India reports 34,113 cases in 24 hours; 10,000 less than a day earlier

India reported 34,113 new Covid-19 cases and 346 related deaths in the last 24 hours ending 8 AM, Monday, as per data released by Union Health Ministry.

After close to 3.5 lakh Covid cases being reported daily between January 20-26, cases dipped to under 40,000 on February 14. However, it is necessary to closely analyse and see if the cases have dropped due to less testing or there has been a general decline in the spread of the virus.

Active cases amount to 1.12% of total cases and stood at 4,78,882. On Sunday, the country's active cases stood at the 5 lakh mark.

There was a marginal increase reported in the daily positivity rate at 3.19% in comparison to Sunday's 3.17%. However, the weekly positivity rate climbed down to 3.99% from Sunday's 4.46%.
