Congress claims 'audio muted for 20 mins' during Opposition protest in LS; govt says 'technical fault'

As the uproar over Rahul Gandhi's 'democracy under attack' remark grew shortly after the proceedings inside the Parliament began on Friday, Congress alleged that audio in the house was muted to silence protesting MPs voices.

Backing the claim, the Congress shared a clip on Twitter, which showed opposition MPs protesting near the Speaker's chair. However, the audio went missing after a few seconds. The audio was muted for almost 20 minutes and only came back when the Speaker spoke, the NDTV report said.

Meanwhile, dismissing the Congress' claims, the ruling BJP said it was a "technical fault", NDTV reported quoting sources as saying.
