Ranchi, Aug 13 (PTI) Senior leaders of the BJP, notably Babulal Marandi, head of the party's Jharkhand unit, took part in a 'Tiranga Yatra' in Ranchi on Wednesday, in anticipation of the upcoming Independence Day festivities.

The procession's highlight was an expansive 940-foot tricolour, showcased prominently by the BJP's youth wing in a rally commencing from Sankalp Park, located in Ranchi's Morabadi region.

This 2-kilometer procession traversed various locales, such as Kutchery Chowk and Saheed Smark Chowk, ultimately concluding at Albert Ekka Chowk.

The march drew participation from BJP and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha activists, alongside NCC cadets, professionals, and everyday citizens.

The state's BJP leader stated that such rallies are being organized nationwide to commend the nation's courageous soldiers.

"Not only India, but the entire world is astounded by the bravery showcased by our soldiers during Operation Sindoor. Presently, 'Tiranga Yatra' is being conducted nationwide in recognition of our soldiers," Marandi remarked.

Regarding the Congress' demonstrations over Bihar's special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Marandi asserted, "They (Congress workers) were unemployed before. They've now found some employment. Rahul Gandhi has been without a job for 11 years. The public has dismissed him."

He added that the Election Commission is committed to amending any discrepancies in the electoral rolls through the SIR process.

"The Election Commission offers a draft electoral roll to each political party, inviting them to propose any necessary corrections. Instead of submitting changes, the Congress chooses to protest on the streets," he commented.
