BJP unveils second part of manifesto for Delhi Assembly Elections 2025

BJP's Delhi manifesto promises free education, ₹15K exam aid, ₹1K SC stipends, and welfare boards for workers with ₹10L insurance. It also vows SIT probes into AAP scams and improved water infrastructure under Jal Jeevan Mission.

BJP unveils second part of manifesto for Delhi Assembly Elections 2025

Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Anurag Thakur on Tuesday released the second part of the BJP's Sankalp Patra (manifesto) for the upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections. The manifesto outlines a series of ambitious initiatives aimed at education, welfare, and governance reforms.

Key Announcements in the Manifesto
Education and Student Welfare

Free education for underprivileged students from kindergarten to postgraduate level in government institutions.
Financial aid of ₹15,000 for students preparing for competitive exams like UPSC and State PCS, applicable for up to two attempts.
Monthly stipends of ₹1,000 under the Bhimrao Ambedkar Stipend Scheme for Scheduled Caste students pursuing technical courses in ITIs and polytechnic centres.

Welfare Schemes for Workers

Proposed formation of an Auto-Taxi Driver Welfare Board, offering ₹10 lakh life insurance and ₹5 lakh accident insurance.
A similar welfare board for domestic workers with identical insurance benefits.

Governance and Accountability

BJP plans to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged irregularities and scams during the AAP government’s tenure.
Commitment to implement the Jal Jeevan Mission, criticising the AAP for failing to provide adequate water infrastructure in Delhi.

Highlights from the First Part of the Manifesto

The first part of the manifesto, released by BJP national president JP Nadda on January 17, included:

Monthly pensions of ₹2,500 for senior citizens aged 60-70 and ₹3,000 for those above 70.

The Matru Suraksha Vandana scheme, providing ₹21,000 and six nutrition kits to every pregnant woman.

Assurance to continue existing welfare schemes while introducing new measures for infrastructure and welfare.

BJP’s Focus on a Comeback

The BJP, which last governed Delhi 27 years ago, has struggled in the past two assembly elections, winning only three seats in 2015 and eight in 2020. With elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly scheduled for February 5 and results on February 8, the party is focusing on delivering a strong message of welfare, accountability, and governance.

Thakur expressed confidence in the BJP’s ability to deliver on its promises, urging voters to bring the party back to power to ensure development and welfare for Delhiites.
