Samajwadi Party's Yadav on Grand Alliance's Bihar CM Cadence

Dharmendra Yadav stated that the grand alliance in Bihar will select its CM candidate. He acknowledged RJD's dominant role but stressed the decision will be made collectively. His remarks responded to BJP's criticism of Rahul Gandhi on the CM candidate issue.

Samajwadi Party's Yadav on Grand Alliance's Bihar CM Cadence

Ballia (UP), Aug 25 (PTI): Samajwadi Party MP from Azamgarh, Dharmendra Yadav, has expressed that the chief ministerial candidate for the opposition's grand alliance in Bihar will be determined by the alliance itself for the forthcoming assembly elections. Yadav also acknowledged the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), being the principal party of the grouping, has a valid claim.

His comments followed the BJP's allegations of "arrogance" against Rahul Gandhi after Gandhi sidestepped a question from the media regarding the Congress's hesitance in declaring RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as the grand alliance's chief ministerial face in the upcoming Bihar polls.

Tejashwi Yadav was seated alongside Gandhi when the query was posed about the Congress's reluctance to name the RJD leader as the Mahagathbandhan's chief ministerial candidate. Tejashwi had recently advocated for Gandhi to become the prime minister after the next general elections.

Dharmendra Yadav, while addressing reporters late Sunday night, remarked, "The Mahagathbandhan will decide on the chief ministerial face in Bihar.

"Everyone is aware of which party is dominant in Bihar and who its leader is. Naturally, the Rashtriya Janata Dal is the main party, and they have their claim. However, the decision will ultimately be taken by the Mahagathbandhan," he added.
