Bali Jatra Festival Swing Stalls: 8 Rescued from 30 Feet High

Cuttack (Odisha), Nov 13 (PTI): In a startling incident at the Bali Jatra festival, eight individuals found themselves stranded for nearly two hours on a malfunctioning mechanical swing that halted approximately 30 feet above the ground.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 11 pm on Wednesday.

Among those on the swing were a woman and two children.

After a tense wait, all eight were safely rescued with the assistance of a hydraulic lift.

Family members expressed their distress, revealing that the individuals were extremely panicked during the ordeal.

Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, along with other senior officers, oversaw the rescue operation.

"All the persons trapped on the swing have been rescued," confirmed the DCP.

Those rescued were subsequently taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
